Majesco spread its seed pretty widely when it came to re-prints, so much that their re-prints are more common than the original runs of certain games.
Ah..so you have the exact copy with no "made in " at all in the back? Just a black piece of plastic? Thad be kewl to know.

As far as the screws are concerned...uhhh..they seem to be a six star i guesss like you guys say torque? screw? But yeah it has a hole int he middle...I cant seem to open it just yet. Ill keep trying.

It play so nice though! I just popped it on last night. Its definitely one of my favorites castlevanias! Just playing it my genny feels so right compared playing castlevania say on vitual console or ds.

Thanks for the quick responses guys.

Mine's a boxed Majesco release with the Made In Mexico sticker on the back. Wish I had the original print boxed, but this was $9.99 along with Contra Hard Corps for $9.99 at Toys R Us back in 1998. Plus the game isn't changed in any way, so no big deal for me. So long as I can play Bloodlines on a console, it's all good.

Nice find! Konami games also have their logo printed on the inside of the clamshell too, instead of the typical Sega logo. They were all about personalized branding!

As did Capcom. Me thinks that both companies got a sweet deal with Sega in order to loosen themselves from Nintendo's vice grip to come develop for the Genesis.

Thanks! It's not often that Sega goodies pop up in this area, but when they do, I try to make the best of it. And Konami? Good luck... Usually NES titles.

He didn't have the case for this cartridge, which would've made my month if he did. Most of his other games were nicely cased up though. I'll likely use a universal game case and print out a comparable quality cover for it. Do you think I should go with the US art or the JP art? Both are good!

I would've liked to see the Konami logo on the original clamshell! I'm loving the game so far.

I'm planning on posting some of my inexpensive Sega pickups on the haul thread. I've never done that before.

Hey Guys, good news I guess. As you can see I got the majesco chip inside! So I guess its legit. But when you guys say back of my game has an assembled in mexico sticker do you mean sticker on the back of the cartridge? That would explain why mine is just a blank plastic. Or sticker on the box? Im aware there are majesco versions which actually say assembled in mexico hard printed on there.

I couldn't find a picture illustrating the custom imprints so I took one last night when I was home.

This is from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Hyperstone Heist, but there are other manufactures that did this as well. I couldn't find a Capcom game that has something similar to this though. All I found in my collection quickly was Strider and it didn't have it, but it's possible cases were swapped over the years.

That goes to show how important Konami was back then! I want that logo on a T-shirt!

Strider was ported over and published by Sega themselves, that's why.

My boxed copy of "The Punisher" had the Capcom logo in its clamshell, I wonder if the other Capcom-published games (SFII: SCE, SSFII, Great Circus Mystery, Saturday Night Slam Masters) do as well.

Ahh, that makes sense then! I do have a copy of Street Fighter II, I'll check it tonight to see.

i noticed the box emblem thing a while ago, first with Namco boxes, then Capcom etc. There are a few of them:

    Namco
    Konami
    Capcom
    Acclaim
Taito (i think all mine are replacements but someone else said they do have a marking)
EA (some of the boxes are just bigger but I've noticed James Pond 2 has a raised EA logo with the 3 shapes)

Then there are games like Tinhead and The Lost Vikings that have altered cases.

And the 2 Codemasters games (Cosmic Spacehead and Fantastic Dizzy)

Which Taito games have the logo? Very interested...

In the case of Taito, I think it has more to do with the region that the games were released in. I would first look at the library of games released in the Japanese market first.
