    Default Power Instinct

I'm suprised this game does not get much mention or praise. Not even a review! Yeah this game came out 93-94 and didn't make it to the U.S., not sure about Europe. I remember playing this on rom, thinking how good it is and importing it years later. Not really a SF rip as much as you could call any fighting game that. Only 8 characters although all you need is a few you really like. The figthers have four special moves each. Some moves easy to pull off, others not as much. Many charge moves. Not the best balance. Some characters look familiar to SF/SS series and moves are similiar to SF/FF/SS series. Some of the moves are more spectacular looking than other fighters. The double jump is here(the only genny game to have it) along with some characters with moves to bring death from above. Great game that most don't seem to know or care about. Suprised this one isn't part of the electrochip repro sales.

Nice, that's what my set looks like. I paid $60 and think it was well worth it.

It made it to the US on Super Nintendo, that's the platform I own it for. Really odd how it has a double jump. Otherwise it's a fun fighting game.

I almost bought an snes just for this game as it would have been less expensive buying an snes and the game but I couldn't bring myself to do such a thing

The double jump works well with dodging attacks(espcially Goketsuji Otanes' shooting comet attack to not loose life points while blocking) and for counter attacks. For example, double jump the shooting comet attack into an in air attack if timed right. Or double jump to avoid an in air attack and counter with an in air attack. Angela, Reiji, and Hattori have great in air attacks where the double jump becomes an effective tool. There also can be some attack action up high in the air as a result. A new level of fighting gameplay.

You did better than me. Thats $47.58 total for you. Mine was $60.14 with the shipping included. If you love fighters and love the genesis/mega drive, I think you can appreciate the game as I do. I used this as a basis for the moves since I don't want to open my manual:

There are some missing moves which I have found and still looking for more. Also some moves can be pulled off with easier movements than mentioned in this faq.

I likes Power Insticnt and played the Arcade and SNES versions.

I know this version for Mega Drive in emulators and I suprised after playing this unknown game for the console.

Before I think this game had for Arcade and SNES only.

Unfortunately, this game is very hard to find.

I had a friend who lives in Japan from 1994 to 2009 and he is not found this game in Japanese Game Stores.

It didn't cost me much to grab the Japanese version. I think it was around 20€-25€ for a CIB copy from some eBay seller.
