I've heard that the Japanese Virtua Stick is better than the one the US got. It also looks like it has better, more arcade accurate parts in it.
I have an american Virtua Stick (similar to your first pic) and it is garbage. The Japanese one is supposed to be a little better. The second stick I haven't used but it is supposed to use higher quality parts and is considered to be much, much better.
Another alternative may be the Ascii Saturn Stick. It's not as good as a real arcade parts stick, but it still has a nice microswitch based stick and is fairly small. It reminds me of the old style Neo Geo joysticks, but a little bit better. They can be had for $10 from Amazon brand new.

Same goes for the European version of the Arcade Power Stick which feels identical.
The other one looks like it's using arcade parts so I would recommend it over the other stick.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.
Then we set about developing killer games.

I'll have to agree with you guys, the Japanese one does look more like it was ripped from an arcade system, guess I'll go with that one. There's got to be a reason why that 2nd one is rarer and more expensive.
Both of those were released in Japan. I have owned both. The second Virtua Stick (bottom picture) is easily the better of the two.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."
Well, I just bought the one from the 2nd pic on ebay. $10 for the stick, $60 for EMS shipping (from Japan). The white boarder of the unit seemed to be a bit yellow, but for $10, I don't mind.
Yeah, if your JPN Virtua Stick works perfectly, then $70 isn't too expensive.
I bought one for like $20 and had it shipped SAL for about $10.
Definitely the best stick available for the Saturn.
