    Default Genesis 1 RCA Cables

Is there a noticeable difference in the video quality between the standard RF adaptor and RCA cables like the ones seen here?

I've been using a 3/4 board Japanese model Gen 2 for standard my Genesis and 32x gaming, but I recently picked up a Power Base Converter so I'm busting the model 1 back out. I just want to know what the best way to enhance the video quality of the Gen 1 is short of modding it.

Without modding it the best you are going to get is composite, which is definitely better quality than RF.

huge improvement! get them now, and throw your rf switch in the trash.

    you will thank me later!

after trying it out, you will want to play through every game in your collection again as if they were brand new.
I don't play old stuff for nostalgia, I play old stuff because the games are better.

Just be aware that some of the cables sold on eBay aren't very good quality and don't all work as well as they should.

For years there was one seller on eBay selling a stereo version of the same cable advertised for use with TurboDuo, Genesis and SMS systems. I bought one and it looked like really bad RF. I knew what it should look like, because I already had several proper ones and only bought it to complete an extra console.

I later found that similar cables sold for midi devices not only worked as good as official console cables, but even produced an image that looked a little better. I found some like the auction listed as well as others that were short with female jacks so I could just hook in the same RCA cables I already had hooked to my main TV for other things.

The best part about the midi cables, is that the super long and super short ones were all only a couple dollars or so and even with shipping were less than the base price of cables sold for use with consoles.

These cables offer better output than RF, and even though the ad says only for Genesis I, they work well with Master System also.

You will be pleased, so order these promptly...
    It is finished!

You should definitely consider using a SCART cable instead of this Composite nonsense. It's, by far, the best option. Of course, since you're an American, you'd probably need a SCART to Component converter, but that depends on your TV.

If you look around on Amazon, you can get an official Sega cable still. They call them Monitor cables, for some reason

Well, I bought the one from the link. I figured even if it turns out to be a piece of crap, it only cost me $6 shipped. If it doesn't work out, I might go the MIDI route, if I can find the right adapter.
