    NGPC A New AtGames Handheld?

    http://www.destructoid.com/blazegear...s-180715.phtml

And this one is for Master System and Game Gear games apparently. It doesn't have a cartridge slot, but it DOES have AV out, so people who have been clamoring to play Game Gear games on their TV at least have SOME hope.

Sweeeeeet! If there are Game Gear games on it, hopefully they put the exclusives on the new handheld.

AtGames needs to get off their ass and make a unified handheld, one that plays Genesis/SMS/GG and actually runs them properly.

Wouldn't need SMS or GG slots, a Genesis slot would be enough,
I'd pay good money for that, but only as long as it also supported loading roms from SD card.

Because its fun to sit there and click your own cartridge in, but if i'm on the road an SD card full of teh romz would be pretty nifty to have.

It looks interesting, but unless some site sells it really cheap (like, $15 or something) I'll pass. Now, if they included SD card support, or an actual Game Gear slot, I'd pick one up. I've been wanting a GG with a better screen for a long time.

I wonder if we can count on QuickSciFi to get one and compare it to his Majesco Game Gear. I've been wondering that MYSELF.

At least AtGames' Master System emulator isn't as shitty as the absolutely horrendous Genesis emulator found in the FireCore and all its variants. Yes, AtGames still fails at the sound, but it's A LOT more bearable than the sound in the AtGames Geniclones. The sound is just a little higher pitched on the AtGames Master System clones compared to a real Master System/Game Gear, but it's tolerable. And hell, if AtGames releases a good portable Master System, I'd buy it. So long as it works with Sonic the Hedgehog, After Burner and R-Type, that is.

Here's a video of the BlazeGear:

Sounds a hell of a lot better than the nasty AtGames Geniclones. Maybe AtGames should stick to making Sega Master System and Game Gear clones.

HOWEVER, take a listen to the Sega chant when this guy plays Sonic Chaos. WTF is that?! It sounds WAY too high-pitched.

I had no idea what the hell he was saying. But I DO believe I would buy one of these things. The screen looks really nice too. How much would 29.99 european translate to american dollars?

It's a bit of a shame they didn't include the superior Sonic Drift 2 and Shining Force: Sword of Hajya.

Well, just from the Youtube video I can tell you that the screen is a hell of a lot better than the Majesco GG

The guy in the video is speaking in Italian. I can do a rough translation for you if you want.

29.99 Euros translates to about $39.89US. At that price, I'd buy one with a cartridge slot.

    Would you mind?

And if not a cartridge slot, at least an SD card slot.

Yeah, if it had Shining Force I would buy one myself. Actually, if I could remove a few of the crap games and add some stuff that I like, I would be in heaven.
