Yeah so you have the same experience most people have had. Well I wish you luck trying to get your money back, as well I suggest just keeping your eye out on ebay for the official controllers or just go ahead and get a really good conditioned 6 button.

If you don't mind getting severely ripped off there is a MIB 3-Button controller on eBay:

Then there are the Official Wireless controllers NIB but they need the wireless receiver to work:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/2-NEW-Sega-Genes...es_Accessories

Here is a different auction once again wireless controllers but with the receiver:

Although all of these auctions are significant rip-offs, all items are official Sega made equipment and NIB.

Oh and Sega Genesis, about the controller from Nintendorepairshop.com it isn't an official Sega brand controller, it even says this in the description:

"Quality 6 button controller for all Sega Genesis systems. Brand new - Mega Brand. Not as nice as the SEGA brand - but a good replacement controller"

Not trying to be mean or anything just wanted to let you know

I actually came across a new 3 button pad at my local retro game shop, the owner said he had a 6 button but sold really fast. He also said he could probably still get new official 6 button pads but it might take time.
