Right now, it's definitely Streets of Rage 2.

Streets of rage 2 is definitely one of the top games on the genesis, but I dunno sometimes I'm in the mood for something lighter. Sonic 3 + knuckles seems to satisfy no matter what mood I'm in.

Too many to choose from but these are some of my favourites.

    1. Phantasy Star IV, first RPG I really got into and one of, if not my favourite RPG of all time.
    2. Streets Of Rage (Series) Great gameplay, great music. what more can be said.
    3. Revenge Of Shinobi - I still prefer this to Shinobi III due to Koshiro's soundtrack. Make Me Dance was and still is an incredible tune.
    4. Gynoug - I used to love this back in the day, The music is steller too.
    5. Strider - I lost count at how many times i finished this, but it was just so much fun to play.

To be honest though, I played so many games that it's almost impossible to do a top list because i enjoyed so many games.

Hmm, it's probably a toss up between Phantasy Star II, Shining Force, and Streets of Rage II. Not the most imaginative choices, but I played those games like crazy growing up. I also have fond memories of Warsong, Traysia, Exile, and D&D: Warriors of the Eternal Sun.

I'm the exact opposite; I have to be in the mood for Sonic 3 with or without Knuckles. Sonic 2 is my go to Sonic title for sure.

Sonic 2 the problem is it's too short. It's so great but it ends so soon!

This is exactly why I play it! I don't have time to sit down and complete S&K/3 in one sitting.

Uhmm...you can save your progress in s3 + k. Boy you really don't like saving and coming back to a game later? I like to fire up a game and not play the same stages every day, keeps it from getting stale.

Not with SEGA titles, no. For me, SEGA is synonymous with speed, and Nintendo with depth and story. I play SEGA because I want to pick up and play; Streets of Rage 2 caters to this urge quite well, because I don't need to play the entire game in one sitting to feel satisfied.

I always wished sega would have more games with saving capability. Streets of rage 2 is the perfect length for a game. Also streets of rage isn't the sort of game meant for saving. But the genesis could have been a wicked rpg machine if it wanted to be.

Most definitely got to be Shinobi 3. Beautiful game. Really blew my mind back in 1993. Gotta love the horse riding level!
