its sucks anyway if it shows limitation idd genesis simply is to powerfull for the semio 32bit handheld,i would avene dare to call it competitive for the 32X GBA is pretty poor 32x could have eaten it alive. It reminds me of how wel done Comix zone was for GBA ehem.i at least know that the GBA cant or barely can handle genesis quality music,Gunstar heroes(genesis) and sonic advance, sonic 2 tunes terribly done and it has 6 PCM channels or something but it just cant do.

This is *Stupid* if you ask me!
I mean if you are sonic crazy chances are u already have several ways of playing it (genesis cart.....ro..umm yea)
Plus why the hell would u port a single game...why not sonic 1-3 or somethin, poor poor poor.

I doubt ten-year-olds would be able to pick up a Mega Drive, plug it into their TV and play Sonic without getting bored. On the other hand, it's pretty simple to see a blue box on a shop shelf, think 'Wow! Sonic!' and buy it.

If the GBA can only just run this game playably, I have no idea how it would manage Sonic 2 or 3. There's your answer.

its still pretty stupid to port a single 4 mg (if i am correct) game in a huge gba cart (holds something like 100+ mgs.

Interesting point - I wonder what the largest GBA game is?

The old 'size doesn't matter' lie also applies to videogames. Even if you could fit Sonic 1 25 times over onto a GBA cartridge, it wouldn't make the hardware capable of running the game capably. Sonic 1 was ten years old when the GBA was released; and even then it's only a glorified SNES (yet still 32-bit somehow?). You could fit a Saturn game or two onto an XBOX360 DVD, and still not get it to run correctly. Hell, some PS1 games don't run properly on a PS2.

Like any other cartridge system, GBA carts are made in different sizes. They're not putting 4 megs of data on a 128 meg cart.

You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.

i see gba as a snes with an better processor but its not a snes alike snes never can do the (simple) scaling and 3d effects gba did yeah its more of an snes upgrade i agree with that,as first im afrraid the gba sound cant handle md synthesis its only 6 channeld and same way as snes pcm and stuff it somethimes uses recorded samples and stuff its not that powerfull and dedicated to persific instruments while the genesis sound chip hell sure is drum guitar bass etc, genesis sound has its seperate thing bass drum Dac or y2612,fm sybnthesis guitar and stuff ym2612 extra psg, genesis sound ways more complicated, processing GBA can do it easely it has to,graphics it also has to,the limitations overall??? beats me i think overall GBA can handle it except the sound, but then aggain comix zone on GBa lacked so much and why i dont know i do understand every handheld, console has its limitations.

An official video finally. It's just as crappy as we foretold (Especially the sound), and then some.

While the crappy video frame rate is because of the player/format they used, I hope that's a BETA.. It's glitchy! I mean, come on, half the thing sounds played, and when the player reaches the goal, the background glitches a couple times.. That's BETA quality..

Atleast they converted the Japanese version (scrolling clouds)..
