Whos incredible idea was this? I dont see how they can possibly justify this. Unfortunately, people are stupid and will gladly pay it....
Mofo's!!!!!..I guess after banning so many people they need to recup some $$$...If you ask me, this service should be completely free to begin with![]()

Full games to download at ridiculous pricing. Streaming movies and videos that can be done on PSN or a PC without a subscription fee too. Its not justifiable. $10 isnt going to break me at all. I just refuse to pay it. All I want is to play online. I dont care, or use, anything else on Live. I just dont understand what they are thinking.
Pricing which gets sliced up and goes to developers. Streaming videos costs 'someone' money. Just because Sony is trying to compete by eating the loss doesn't mean the loss isn't real.
Hosting massive amounts of data, feeding it to every xbox 360 in the country, you sound like you have no concept of how broad the network needs to be, nor a concept of licensing fees for content partnerships.
I don't see why we have to pay for online, when PCs do it for free.I have netflix, and I can stream to my PC/Wii for free, but for my 360 it requires a gold account.I think MS has tricked people into thinking Xbox Live is worth more than it really is.
Less talk more action!
PC's do not do online for free. Bandwidth costs money.
Netflix floods the XBL network with traffic, Microsoft will take any $ it can to justify it to share holders. It adds more value to the service, after all.
I don't even use Xbox Live Gold, I think it sucks; but I don't see why it should be 'Free' when it's essentially their future platform.
I pay for internet , why do I have to pay to access multiplayer if I already have an internet connection.I used play Unreal Tournament on 56K modem, and it didn't cost me a dime, and for the most part most games are still like that.

You're missing the point. Every game is hosted on a centralized network. It's not the old days, it's not the old 'server list' & 'master server' bullshit.
Your money isn't keeping 'Multiplayer' turned on from their end, it's being used to keep the multiple server farm's that run everything turned on & maintained with redundancies.
It probably costs them tens of thousands of dollars a day to have the servers turned on, along with the air coolant needs, the sys admins on standby, the bandwidth running between locations, the rights to host shit nobody plays.
