Default Scart has failed me, or has it?

so after all the discussions about Scart being the best PQ I bought one of these

    http://cgi.ebay.com/SCART-RGB-YUV-Co...item4cf1161648

So far I only have a SNES scart which I bought from fleabay a while ago.

Problem is the Picture looks Greenish and the Quality is worse than when using my SNES S-video cable.
Don't know if the problem lies with the box or a crappy cable.

My Gen2 and Saturn cables will probably arrive within a week, which I ordered from console goods from UK.

I hope it is just an issue of the cable, and the new ones will look good, otherwise this sucks

Those boxes are notoriously crap, I've had 2 so far from different manufacturers and both have given me washed out inacurate colour

these things happen, wait till you get another system to test it on then fly off the handle at the appropriate person.

US and EU SCART cables for SNES are totally different. I'd make sure I got the right cable.

Also: pictures always help to identify the problem.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

OH shit I forgot to ask..

does the Snes image DIM slightly?

on the RGB lines a SNES does not need the caps/resistors on the line. if you open the scart end and it has 3 caps, twist them around so they short themselves out, but don't break them off.

thats what I had todo as a SNES has something built in so it doesn't require them or somin.

iirc, the caps are needed if you're using the cable on a NA SNES.

That's good to know. I bought one of those boxes about 6 months ago to use with an RGB modded PC-Engine. While the picture is definitely sharper, the colors are washed out. I should be getting a scart board made by Viletim for my arcade cab in the mail tomorrow and will be able to hook the PCE up to it and see if it's the mod job causing the washed out colors or if it's this box.

Here's a picture I took with the PCE hooked up to my plasma tv. The first pic is composite, and the second pic is rgb through the scart box.

i have the same box, and my first genesis cable had a problem with color bleeding.

i then got cables from this site, and the difference was night and day
