Do me (and yourself) a favor and turn down sharpness all the way to 0.

Then deactivate all other video filters and adjust the coloration, contrast and brightness until you think it looks good.

You don't need these boxes anyway. You live in Europe so any HDTV you have access to should accept RGB-SCART out of the box.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

In the description it said.... oh, wait, you're right! Strange, if I remember correctly then a PAL SNES cable won't work with an NTSC SNES due to the different pin out.

    Try one of these: http://shop.ebay.com/game+cube+scart

@gavica, there's nothing wrong with your RGB to YUV transcoder, you just need to open the box, then you will see 3 pots soldered to the PCB coming from the scart input, try to tweak the color intensity by adjusting each of them with a small screwdriver,

judging from those pics the red seems to be a bit stronger than the other 2, so try to increase the blue pot first.(you have to turn the pots clockwise in order to increase potency)

just to be sure you might as well open up the scart plug and see if there are 3 capacitors in there. if there aren't, then you'll know for sure that it's the cable.

check this out for more info if you want.

The s-video shot there looks a lot more defined then its scart counterpart. I also had this issue with scart and my Genesis Model 1. I decided to mod it with s-video instead of trying to hassle with scart cables and outputting through component or hdmi. It seems to have worked out better for me.

Actually I was getting a little sick of using scart splitters for the two RGB SCART sockets on my TV, my two lots of component inputs were unused hence me thinking that getting a couple of those boxes would be a good call.

One of the boxes, this one:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=160477666269

seemed to have good colour reproduction but a very noisy unsteady image.

The 2nd box, which was one of these (i diddnt pay this much):

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=400109768978

Picture was steady and clear, however the colours were al washed out pastil shades.

I would also note (and I know you can use VGA anyway) the Dreamcast would not work properly through either of these boxes.

Also make TOTALY sure that your SCART lead is wired for RGB, SCART cables cary RGB,svideo and composite all in one cable, many console SCART cables, especially the cheap ones, are only wired for composite

Stupidly I discovered after al this that the top component input on my TV accepts RGB directly so al I needed was a cabe not a converter

ok my gen2 cable arrived from console goods.

The good news, the picture is alot sharper, probably what scart should be.

The bad news, the picture still has that greenish look instead of the natural colors.

So do I need to send this box back and have them send me a replacement?
