Which One Of These Is The Best?

Haven't played a few of those but Phantasy Star IV gets my vote. Truly the best game EVARRRR

Sonic 2 was my long-time favorite since it came out; I thought nothing would ever beat it, then PSIV blew it out of the water. Although actually I can't demote Sonic 2, so it and PSIV are both my #1 games.

Shinobi III. It's got incredible gameplay, a nice variety of level-styles, good soundtrack, and the most epic ending in history.

They are all good games, but one of them is the best out of the lot, and that games is Alien Soldier.

Man I get that Alien solider has good gameplay and looks great but, I cant get over the fact of how stupid it is. You look like a giant fucking chicken in the game. Would of loved it if they'd of just used a normal person. People relate more to humans. Hence why the best of the of those types of game is and always will be Metal Slug.

Streets of Rage 2 is the most well put together game I have ever played. My only criticisms would be the Grand Uppah being to over powered and not being able to dash with all the characters that is it. Everything else is so perfect I can't believe how spoiled I was as a kid thinking it will only get better in the years to come I was wrong.

Most of the games are great and to comment on the 3 ahead of Streets of Rage 2 right now...

Shinobi 3- Amazing game, I just feel it was a little short and should of had another level. (they scraped some nice backgrounds in the prototype they could have used, oh yeah one more scene with a horse I always pictured I pure white horse to keep it fresh would have been sweet but maybe overdone for some tastes.)

Sonic 3 and Knuckles- Hard to argue here I think the game is brilliant but I will not put it ahead of game that was complete on a single cart. If Sonic 3 and Knuckles was on one cart It would be a toss up between this and Streets of Rage 2.

Sonic 2- Awesome game I just feel they should of kept the 3 zone formula from Sonic 1 or make most of the zones a little longer. The game fly's without a hitch until you get to Metropolis Zone long gone are the memories of 2 zones at about 1:30 each, now we have 3 zones at about 4 minutes each. It feels like you way to much time in Metropolis Zone and this is usually when I shut the game off. (the perfect length for most of the zones should have been Oil Ocean) Lastly the bonus stages suck.

Sonic 2, pretty easily. Gunstar Heroes is fun, but it's the size/difficulty of an emerald lv from Sonic 2: my first impression of renting it, being delighted with it, and wondering why it was already over, will never be erased. Ditto for Shinobi 3; and again, Shinobi 2 looks better.

Barring Zebbe, maverick that he is, I respect no site reviewer's opinion and ability half as much as yours, but this game is very poor. In our earlier exchange about it I was being politic. It's totally generic and mismade. A vague elemental theme and a selection of weapons do not constitute originality; glossed sprites and occasional vertical scrolling do not compensate for massive slowdown and jolts of forced scrolling. It's trumped up for its difficulty, yet if not for the slowdown it wouldn't be difficult at all, and is still nowhere near that of Hellfire, or Grindstormer (which has slowdown too, but not the speed resumption jerks).

I'm frightened to agree with you, but a chicken is exactly what he looks like. And somehow that's so much sillier than a worm in a spacesuit.

Actually he was suppose be a human but treasure later decided to be a bit more creative and used an animal instead.



Personally I like that they chose an EAGLE at the end. Just makes the game more freaky, I mean, it is called ALIEN soldier. Also, every action game was mostly a muscular men in the 90's and I can see why they wanted to try out something new.

I can't comment on the soundtrack, but the game just has better mechanics, the amount of things it adds is astounding.It is easily the most complex beat em up ever made and one of the most engrossing.

The overall opinion is that 2 is better than 3. I like it better too, but I really like 3 also(the Bare Knuckle version). I've seen a lot of people say "I only like the first 2!". That blows my mind. Part 3 KILLS the first one. The only problems with it, really, is that the music is weak, and it's not as colorful or as sharp as part 2(although the characters are more impressive looking). Part 2 just has that amazing soundtrack, really interesting backgrounds, and..it just has this vibe. It's pretty awesome. Not knockin' 3 though. It just doesn't have "classic" written on it, despite it's more impressive moves, and faster pace. The fact that you can run, is really great too.

That is very interesting. I love the design they went with. Actually, almost everything in that game is pretty interesting to look at. I always like that little bear that's on the boat. That lobster monster is like "to hell with you!". It's pretty funny.
