Default Where have all the Sega games gone?

In my semi-weekly rounds to the thrift stores in my region, I am amazed by the lack of Sega games for sale these days. There are 12 thrifts within 40 minutes of my house, and here is the current list of Sega games for sale:

    Madden 94 CIB- Genesis
James Pond loose cart - Genesis
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers CIB - Sega CD
    Dracula CIB - Sega CD

    That is it!

While there are a fair share of SNES, PSX, N64 and Xbox titles available, the Sega game have dried up. Has anybody else noticed this?
    It is finished!

I see a lot of Genesis and Dreamcast games, but I never see 32X, Saturn, MS, or CD games.

I think their was a discussion similar to this on a different forums, and people where saying it is all about where you live. Like I said where I live I only see Genesis and Dreamcast games, but if I go 60 miles out of my way I start to find Sega Saturn games, and if I got 150 miles out of my way I start to find 32X, MS, and CD games. Though still not a lot of 32X games. I have never seen any 32X games with boxes.

I see Genesis and occasional Saturn games at good will, but never any dreamcast games. (at least not beyond a few common sports titles and the web browser disc, albeit the latter isn't a game)

I sort of get the feeling that the Saturn might have been more popular around here than in other parts of the US. (that would also explain some of my experiences as a kid in the late 90s) Then again, I've yet to see a Saturn at either of the local good wills I visit... but no Dreamcast either for that matter. (PSXs, N64s, Geneses, PS2, Xbox, Game Cubes, and occasional GB/GBP/GBC/GBA and game gears, plus the odd SNES or NES) The console stuff seems most common in the winter though.

All I see is Genesis, I'm sick of it, I've got 91 freaking Genesis games! Sometimes I see N64 and NES too, but I have a lot of games for both of those systems as well. 31 for 64 and 60 for NES.

I want to see more Saturn, SNES, and Dreamcast.

I see plenty of Genesis, NES, SNES, N64 games at the local stores, every once in a while I'll see SEGA CD or Saturn game, Master System games pop up too but rarely.

Out of the 3 local stores in my area, one of them doesn't sell ANY sega games. One buys and sells used Sega games. The third appears to just sell Sega, not buy.

All 3 stores buy/sell all nintendo games and systems.

Quite a lot of Charity Shops as we call them here in the UK now have eBay accounts, Ive seen bags of Mega Drive games behind the counter in Age Concern and when you ask if they're going out for sale you get "sorry they're going on the internet"

Try the play n game retro store on 3200 N clark, i forget the exact address. They carry tons of genesis stuff, and just about any other old system as well.

They've been bought up already by someone with more money than you, who left just a minute before you arrived.

...that's what I tell myself, anyway. As I wipe away bitter tears. As I'm leaving the shop. Hope draining, will fading away. Wretched.

Meh, at least if they put good stuff on evilbay it's not wasted. I asked about a small psx console in a British Heart Foundation shop, and was told they have to post them off to specialised electronics stores, or they're not allowed to sell them - often they just throw them away.

And they wouldn't just let me "disappear" it either. Jobsworths

Charity shops are required by law to get mains powered electrical items PAT tested before re-selling, many don't bother and just throw them away
