I second that the millenium Godzilla series is pretty good! Of course you can't ever take them too seriously, but they can be pretty entertaining. Godzilla the original is still considered a classic. But aside from that, I personally think that the Heisei Gamera Trilogy is the best daikaijuu series around.

Anyways, as for Godzilla games, I think the idea of a kaijuu strategy game (as seen in Godzilla 2 on NES) was interesting but not always thoroughly executed. The slot machine battle system killed an idea that actually had potential, though the Game Gear one is somewhat better in that regard (also a strategy game). The first one on NES was kind of fun, but repetitive.

I haven't played any of the others as they sounded too lame.

And I also second Gamera 2000 on PSX, awesome game.

    No.
If one is a Godzilla fan, as I am, there are plenty. If one is not a Godzilla fan, as appears to be the case with you, then of course there aren't.

Though they would have been much better if they would have realized that its the crappy human storylines that always ruin the movie.

Like that one with MechaGodzilla where the kid is talking to it like its alive, OH KIRYUU!!! I LOVE YOU KIRYUUU!!!

or Final Wars with all the Emo Matrix aliens with emo hair and eye makeup.

oh who am i kidding, those movies sucked.. No wonder the American version added a stupid storyline,
they just wanted to do the same thing.

but still, the Millenium movies are fun if you only watch it for the monster fights.
The Millenium series is the least of the entire canon IMO, and, aside from a few nice moments featuring Manda and a couple other monsters of old, GODZILLA: FINAL WARS is the absolute worst G-film ever made (the Hollywood abomination doesn't count as part of the series). The faux-MATRIX bullshit and wrongheaded satirical tone ruined it, as would be expected from a director who doesn't like Godzilla movies. Toho should have stopped with the last of the Heisei series, GODZILLA VS. DESTROYER; a fitting and even touching end to Godzilla's long career.

I agree (although I think Godzilla 2000 was worse than Final Wars). The Heisei series was that of my childhood, so for me Godzilla vs Destoroyah is the end.

Whatever happens with the Legendary film, it looks like Toho is planning a new series of G-films featuring a fully CG Godzilla. And it looks like it is going to work out:

Unfortunately that clip is from a 2008 nostalgic comedy film called "Always 2", not from an upcoming Godzilla film.
