    Sad Addams Family Values

Is there a reason it wasn't released in America for the Gen? All we have over here is the SNES version (while graphically has more tricks like rain, etc, I prefer the Genny's music as its even MORE brooding and depressing due to that sound chip).

If it was given a better & more consistent password system or if you could get it from the pause menu whenever you wanted I'd call this game a true winner!

I think it was on the Sega Channal for a while, but alas I'm not American and never experienced it.

The company who made the game,Ocean, are British - so maybe that's a factor in why it didn't get a release.

The workings of Raul Julia should not be known by us mere mortals. His wisdom of denying the awesome Mega Drive in favour of the less mighty SNES will be forever unknown, non-the-less, I accept his reasons with a glad heart.

    PRAISE RAUL.

I won't call it crap, it's a good game to me, but I guess it's like Marmite: you either love it or loath it.

Its just that it looks like an adventure, sounds like an adventure, and plays like an adventure.

but they forgot to put proper directions and sram in the bloody game,
so you end up walking around and writing down passwords until you come across
a place that offers some sort of progress in the game.

Its kinda like Secret of Mana, except they let you wander around aimlessly without any hints or save option.

Real shame, cause the game LOOKS and PLAYS good, its just annoying.

<3 Raul, he is dealry missed. Despite the crapfest of the SF movie I LOVE his Bison, as he did it with respect & dignity. (Especially since that Chun-Li craps out now I triple my love for the first....oh wait...the Chun-Li one doesnt exist...)

And I was playing a rom earlier and I didnt find it too bad, it just needs a consistent password system and to be a little more informative on what to do, as right now I'm wandering stupidly cuz I was given a key by a plant but have nooooo clue where to go!

Ocean didn't care as much for the North American Genesis market as they cared for the European Mega Drive market, and even there they eventually cancelled a lot of releases that were planned, like Mr. Nutz 2, Putty Squad, Waterworld and Jelly Boy.

It seems that the North American Sega Channel got some European games that didn't arrive to North America as retail, like Mr. Nutz and Addams Family Values, and even The Flintstones: The Movie, which wasn't released anywhere in cartridge form. I guess this one was also planned for a European retail release, but suffered the same fate as the others.

There's nothing to concern with Addams Family Values though, since the European version is a free region game and works fine in every Mega Drive or Genesis system.

Though it's no doubt impossible to find =S

Looks like there's 3 copies on there at the moment, with the cheapest being £39.95 (or best offer) - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ADDAMS-FAMILY-...item4aa4e2c61d

That's the same amount it probably cost when it was first released!

I'm pretty indifferent to Marmite - can take it or leave it. I'm similarly indifferent to Addams Family Values. Overall I probably prefer Marmite, it's much cheaper and easier to get hold of. Plus AFV has far less nutritional value.

    The film's not bad though.

I won't know, I've never tried to eat a MD game before!
