Someone made a thread on which Genesis model you prefer. What about the CD? Do you prefer the toploader or the frontloader?
I prefer the model 2. It looks cooler and has better bios music. (Although the bios on the X eye is the best.)

Model 2 for life.
I like the model 1 better. I wish I had one. I still love my model 2...even though coupled with the model 1 Genesis and the extension plate it takes up entirely too much space on my shelf.
Model 1 for looks, model 2 for the fact it works.
The Model one is my first choice. Although my first Sega CD was, and still is, a Model 2.
Of course I truly couldn't decide on just one so I bought every US release. Except that monstrously expensive Laseractive. I can't justify that thing...
Model 1 FTW. Have pics of it under my Pics section.
Model 1. It looks badass underneath the Model 1 Genesis (green and red Christmas lights!) and isn't as "obese" as the model 2's setup would be. Even though the bios music for the SCD 2 is more popular, I prefer the model 1 music.

model 1
it makes it look like a black slab of powah!
Model 2 for me. I don't particularly care for the appearance of the hardware, but the BIOS music is awesome and at least the thing works.
The first model makes the second look like a bootleg. That's enough reason for me to prefer the original.
I prefer the CDX. Small and sleek. Combine with a 32x for great composite video and good sound.
