Um lets just say, if you own a 360, you certainly didn't buy it for RPGs, that's for sure(stick to FPS, action, and sports games, with the occasional Fighter thrown in for the 360 gaming).
It's probally one of the worst systems in gaming history, for RPGs.

Oblivion and Fallout are probably the 2 best, although they werent my cup of tea.
Mass Effect 1 & 2 are excellent although they push the boundary of being called an RPG.
Lost Odyssey is probably your best bet for a true RPG.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go for Blue Dragon also. Great graphics, great music, fantastic old school class system a la Final Fantasy V... it's got a lot going for it.

It's hard to pick just one as being the best, so I'll list all the titles I actually own & have enjoyed...
If you like standard JRPGs, these are the best ones on the 360 (my personal favorite probably being Lost Odyssey):

For JRPGs, Tales of Vesperia is the best. I'd probably put Blue Dragon second, cause I like the old school feel of it.

I hear Tales of Vesperia is the best JRPG by a mile.

its been mentioned, but hands down IMO that would be Tales of Vesperia. I really loved the characters and story in that game. The main characters kinda a departure from the typical hero, hes got a dark side and cuts down at least 2 people in cold blood durring the game. Go play it, now
@zoltar: no the original xbox is the worst game in gaming history for RPGS. THe 360 has a small but half decent library of them. Plus it has great western RPG's like Fallout, oblivion, eand the AWESOME mass effect.
best western rpg would probably be Mass Effect. I beat the first one 9 times =P havent played 2 though since bioware pissed me off with the broken ass Dragonage that they never patched
