Whoa More new Phantasy Star games coming!

    http://www.siliconera.com/2010/10/14...al-trademarks/

Aside from the new Phantasy Star Online 2 being announced, it looks like Sega registered trademarks for two other games as well, Phantasy Star: Eternal Planets, and Phantasy Star: Eternal Hunters.

Here's hoping for something at least REMOTELY similar to the original Genesis series.

    Thoughts?

Yea, and maybe Sega will release a sonic game that people here actually like. I don't see it happening.

    I sincerely doubt it.

It sounds like it's going to be more like Monster Hunter and Pokeman than traditional Phantasy Star.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

I'd like something close to the original Genesis series, something close to the EVEN MORE ORIGINAL Master System game would be just as awesome.

Thats Sega for ya, constantly trying to mooch off other franchises, oh the kids like Pokemon? then we'll just redo a franchise to be just like that!
Sigh, like Joe i too would greatly enjoy a real rpg that was based on the original 4 games,
imagine that, the PS1 and 2 style but in full 3D, round buildings and space travel to other planets, could make for a good rpg.

But it will probably end up as a pokemon/card/online kinda clone, with no story at all.

    This is bad news:

*Sega is going to hand over the development to people who haven't worked on the series before.

*They are going to make "a fresh re-start to the classic series", which "combines new ideas with the old formula" for "older fans and newcomers alike".

*It's gonna be buggy, not feel like the old games at all and be a mediocre game at best.

*Sonic, Golden Axe, Nights... It has happened before and it will happen again!

You know.. all this stuff that Sega is doing, all these fuckups.. it doesn't make sense!
So i was thinking, maybe its us who don't get it? maybe Sega has some sort of amazing reverse psychology plan?

    hmmm? hmmm?
