Square Enix Senior Vice President Shinji Hashimoto revealed that the company wasn't very impressed by the sales of cult RPG classic Chrono Trigger during an E3 interview regarding Front Mission Evolved, a reinvention of the Front Mission franchise.
When asked by RPGSite staff if he could foresee Square handing off other much-loved but neglected franchises to external developers as with Front Mission, he asked what franchise we had in mind.
Our response? Chrono Trigger, of course!
"Why does everyone ask about Chrono Trigger?" he laughed. We told him it's a very loved series. "That's not what the sales tell me!" he responded.
"If people want a sequel, they should buy more!"
The "Want more? Buy more!" terminology certainly applies regarding Squeenix

Just got Urban Chaos in for Dreamcast. Holy cow is this a PS1 game on the Dreamcast, and the framerate isn't even stable! Then there's the gameplay. I figured out the weird walk-run-turnaround mechanics, it actually kinda reminds me of the new Shadowrun game in that respect. But my first mission to stop a jumper on a roof has me really frustrated at trying to time a jump to a fricking powerline to get over to the roof. The midair steering controls are way too sensitive. If I was having fun so far, or liked anything about the city design, graphics or audio I would probably muscle through this just to figure it out. As it stands, I doubt I will play it again unless I decide to take a video of a horribly beta rendition of GTAIII on the Dreamcast (complete with even more draw in and framerate issues than GTA III had).
That, and Trickstyle doesn't work with the VGA box and I'm too lazy to break out my Gameshark disk. I just flushed $20 down the tubes that I might have spent on Mr. Bones.![]()
