In my personal endeavor to try and reach a full "American", NTSC, Genesis library, I've come across many a comprehensive list. Putting a limit (number) to the craziness sure does help, but reaching that exact number tends to be a bit confusing. For almost a year (and even before I joined sega-16), I went by the site's master list. But I've grown to understand the relative difficulty in importing (even nowadays).

At any rate, here's my list of “OFFICIAL” American-released, NTSC and/or Region-Free titles:

The list is completed and edited for ALL "OFFICIAL" (NTSC) American Genny titles with UNIQUE content. I've also included those unlicensed games that made it to retail stores, as they, too, would have been readily available to any child of the 90s living in America. As an extension, I’ve decided to also include region-free games made available in America for the first time after the 90s that fall under ALL of the following three (3) criteria:

1. Must ONLY contain ORIGINAL or OFFICIALLY-ACQUIRED content (Must be legal. In other words, no hacked ports, hacked Genesis games, rehashed content, games that feature copyrighted material without legal consent, Chinese knock-offs or bootlegs in general).

The total is an "official" 707 titles available in the US during the Genesis' heyday. A total of 9 new releases have also been made commercially available since then. And there are 3 more in development.

EDIT: Something we did in the Sega-Brasil Forum was listings based on pictures of the box, no picture no entry, it took some time to list everything as we did this with every official console and acessories released by Tec Toy . The end result was very gratifying and is extremely accurate.

Someone should do the same with the USA and European releases because this would end all confusion and it would be much faster as this community is much bigger and concentrated.
