What is with this whole thing over Alex Kidd eating a riceball or a hamburger in Miracle World? I don't often see the hamburger. In fact, my North American copy of Miracle World has the riceball in it. Is this uncommon or anything?

Alex eating a hamburger only appears in the built-in BIOS versions of Alex Kidd in Miracle World on a few late Master Systems and the majority of SMSIIs.
All the cartridge versions have him eating a riceball regardless of region, there was a rumour that a South American version that him eating something else but turned out to be false.
Onigiri is damn good. I lived off that stuff when I was a poor student in Japan.

What exactly does it taste like? I would imagine it's like eating...a ball of stick white rice?
^Hmmmm dunked in soy sauce and wasabi I imagine they'd be good. (Probably similar to sushi, which already often has rice in it, or at least the vegetarian sushi often has rice)
I gotta go to the local sushi place for their all-u-can-eat night.... What an awesome to spend a Wed. night
It looks like you ate better than I did in college. Ramen noodles aren't even really food, but I couldn't beat the price. Then I moved up to hamburger helper, and then I decided to start reading recipes.![]()

I'm glad to see I'm not going insane!
Someone did a TAS of Miracle Land, which, of course, featured the Riceball... I did a doublecheck on my SMSII to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me.
No, it's more like a sushi roll with no filling.
Sweetened sticky rice is used very similar to that of sushi. (short grain white rice mixed with a solution of rice vinegar and sugar)
Good plain or with various dipping sauces. (soy sauce, tempura dipping sauce, or teriyaki sauce)
