    Default Broken Save Files (PS1)

Whilst playing FF5 on PS1, one of the save files had become broken in a matter of minutes. I think it was the only file to break, but it's kind of odd that it'd break so soon. What would have caused this? Is the game sometimes prone to broken files, or is it just a freak event? I'm using a cheap, 3rd party memory card, if that means anything. Maybe there lies the problem.

Anywho, I don't want my files dying, so what's wrong so that I may fix it if possible?

You answered your own question. Third party ones usually use cheap memory and as a result corrupt or stop functioning all together. It's best to get an official one.

yea, cheap cards use cheap memory, though usually it should take longer for the memory to die, at least couple thousand save cycles.

Alrighty. I'll have to get me an official one next time I go to the store.

In the long run, all memory cards will get corrupt and break. Does anyone know of a way to store save files on another source?
