Default The Limited Edition Gold Classic controller is awesome.

The pictures of it really don't do it justice(It's even better looking in person), and get this, It's virtually fingerprint proof(about bloody time), so it always looks pretty.

I assume you're talking about the Wii 007 pack-in controller...

...Is it a painted gold? Or is it the actual dye of the plastic?

Yea, that's it, and lol I wish it were painted with the 24k gold paint(hm, that's not a bad idea actially), but nah It's dyed. However the plastic that the top half of the controller is made of is a bit different then the past controllers, and there's no glossy finish either.

Well, that's definitely good news. Nintendo has a bad habbit of painting their plastics for sake of appeal. If a painted console flakes off, imagine what could happen with the wear and tear on a hands on controller. True color ftw.

I got one too, even though I have no intention of actually using it to play Goldeneye. It feels funny to have grips when playing SNES games, but it's comfy and worked well for Secret of Mana.

You obviously haven't used a Platinum Game Cube controller or one of the original DS colors for years.
