Are the Interlacing Artifacts not that big of a deal? Are we talking standard Interlacing artifacts... as in, letters look a lil blurry compared to their HD counterparts? Besides that, nothing else?

The only difference I see between 480i and P is that the Letters look messed up in Interlaced mode. Are there ANY other benefits to playing in Progressive Mode?

    OldSchool, also check out...

God of War: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta
    Pursuit Force
    Patapon
    LocoRoco 1 & 2
    Downstream Panic

I didn't care for MGS: Portable Ops, though.

Do you know Castlevania Dracula X is 3 games in 1? The main game Rondo of Blood remake, the original Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the night.
Is usually on sale at k-mart for like 9.99 (sometimes 6.99!). Amazon has it for 12.74 and eligible for free shipping.

    Other games I'd recommend
    God of War: CoO, GoS
    Chili Con Carnage
    Crush
    Dante's Inferno
    Daxter
    EA Replay
    Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast
    Pursuit Force Extreme Justice
    Twisted Metal: Head-on

If you have a Modded PSP you can look for Manhunt 2 - Uncensored

What are you thoughts on the 3000s' screen? Any experience with the previous 1s & 2s?

    (thks, guys)
unfortunately i dont really have any experience. I couldn't test any at the gamestops i tried. One i got to start but the lines started getting big and the guy wouldn't leave me with the system so i had to stop. I started up Disgaea Infinite thinking it was gonna be like regular disgaea but it was all dialog and text, lol. I didn't get to see any gameplay to look for the interlacing issue. I also didn't get to hold it right up to my face, the guy was holding it most of the time, but at the brief glance i got i didn't notice serious interlacing issues like i would have expected. The true test would be when i get one myself i guess, and try some of the games that made it look bad (disgaea, metal slug, ect)

I should be clear though since you keep asking about it: f it does have interlacing issues it is NOT just about text. There would be ugly black lines on the screen and it would make most 2d games look like crap. I.e. like in this pic:
    http://www.reghardware.com/2008/10/2...00_scan_lines/

look at the metal slug pic

    or the disgaea pic here
    http://www.crunchgear.com/2008/10/21...lacing-abound/

the wider color space also makes some games look very wrong color wise i hear. I.e. like the green messed up MGS pic here

some people dont seem to mind it, other do. I personally HATE interlaced stuff. I have to make sure i game at a decent distance from my 32" sony trinitron when im playing my PS1 through s-video. The crisp picture really makes the interlacing look terrible. Im worried the PSP will be just like that

The 3000's interlacing is a little annoying. I prefer the 1000 and 2000 screens, even though the 3000 is brighter. The interlacing does not show up when plugged into a TV.

I use my 1000 models the most because they are hacked and great for emulation. The 3000 is reserved for newer games that require recent/current firmwares. Of course, I can still play the older PSP games on the 3000 as well...

No interlacing when hooked up to an HDTV? Awesome
