I could use borrowing a PS3 for a fortnight, to play the exclusives (MGS4, Uncharted 2, TLG—when it comes out—and Killzone 2, plus the odd PSN game) but the redundancy in this generation is well established so it comes down to personal preference more than any previous point in time.

Also, to be utterly frank, Sony has some excellent in-house teams that Microsoft cannot currently match, plus MS can't coerce publishers not to release PC versions, themselves being a large PC foundation. I should do a tally of Digitalfoundry's multiplat game stand-offs, to make a fair judgment as to which platform has the best ports in general.

Don't get any of these games. Don't get an XBox 360. And don't get a PSP or DS, either. I don't think we need any more threads once you realize that these systems don't meet your standards.

Why not? I've put hours into playing my 360 and it was definitely worth buying. I've spent so much time playing gears of war 2 and resident evil 5....the system is worth buying just for those game in my opinion. I don't know why you're hatin

Ah... You really need to get to know OldSchool a little better to understand where I'm coming from.

Lazy developers are indeed a problem today. I was rather disappointed to see all the screen tearing in Halo Reach, but that isn't going to deter me from enjoying the game, despite its flaws.

Again, since the 360 is relatively easier to develop for a lot of multiplat games used the 360 as base and then ported to the PS3. In fact even a few high-budget (refusing the term 'AAA' here—antiair artillery? ) titles run better on 360 than PC!

My only beef with the 360 is its reliability issues.

And I was actually slightly disappointed in how buggy Gears of War 2 turned out to be (compared to the first one, anyway), but it still remains one of my favorite 360 games.

The only reason to get a 360 is for certain multiplatform games, the PS3 doesn't have enough good exclusives to warrant a system purchase.Demon Souls,Heavy Rain,Yakuza,Valkyria Chronicles, and some shmups on PSN,that's pretty much it on the PS3.

I'll be honest I never heard of Infamous, and it looks interesting.Little Big Planet isn't bad,but it isn't great, but 2 looks a lot better.MGS4 isn't as good as 3, and the rest are your general bad console shooter fare.I am surprised you are a PC gamer, because you seem to like bad console shooters.

That's a good site.It really depends on preference though.I'd rather play some games on low on a PC than on a console.Even with all the effects and what not I hate upscaling it is just ugly, at least it is on the 360.

You're crazy. LPB is the most amazing Platformer ever made. I don't even know what 2 is going to do to the gaming world. Part one has thousands of top notch maps to play online once the huge SP Campaign is completed. MGS4 is simply more of the same quality that is present in the rest of the series.

The others are very well done linear shooters, simple as.

You and I obviously have very different tastes... and that's fine.
