That scene in Alabama is fantastic. The whole episode was brilliant.

@Rusty Venture, you're right it must be something like that

We're still importing TV shows. In fact, most of our game shows were based on American versions - e.g. Family Fortunes. Then there's children's programming - the early-morning stuff is generally ours, but everything aimed at selling toys to kids aged seven and up is imported. These aren't remade, granted, but you know what I mean.

Then you get cunts like Rupert Murdoch crying to the Government about unfair competition and I'm like fuck off, the BBC is one of the best things we have and can genuinely be proud of as a nation (the others being the NHS and Yorkshire puddings).

I don't mind it (ps it's not a 'tax'), especially considering I wake up to BBC radio, catch the news before going to work, then catch up again on my lunch break whilst listening to the radio all day. I watch more TV shows from on-demand stuff like the iplayer and SeeSaw than I do on my TV.

    Here's a charming video:

I understand that humour doesnt always translate well across languages, but we speak (almost) the same language and our cultures are similar enough for the jokes to carry.

I just dont get why they need to mess.
Well, you do have Law & Order: UK, which isn't really a remake, but more of a localization since a large number of story lines come from the news.

    That was hilarious.

Woman: "Sure, I need to take this dog back to my boyfriend's..."
    Guy: "Fuck you..." *kicks dog*

Also, that's the same guy who plays Douglas Reynholm on The IT Crowd
