That's interesting, I never completed the campaign in the Xbox game.
Yeah the last 2 levels drag. Anyhow I don't recall whether that bonus level is unlocked by beating it with Rikimaru or with him and Ayame both.
The 360 game is better in some ways, but worse in others. I could never get the customizable character designs to be as cool looking as the mainstay characters in the previous game.
I'm relieved the 360 games are so awful, they're the one realistic franchise that'd make me regret choosing the PS3 were they any good. Even the Wii game looks far better. Amazing nobody's made a knockoff/rival series.

Oh, and I wasn't saying I was offended by the murder sequences, but without them the game becomes an endless series of coma inducing wet willies.
No it wasn't that; they impede the gameplay is all.
--- Another new addition to Fatal Shadows is having to hide corpses by pulling them into dark, tall grass, round crates &c.

    "Amazing nobody's made a knockoff/rival series."

I know, It's shocking as hell. My guess is, It's because the series wasn't really known by developers, well that is until recently(the wii game was showcased in E3, and aired on TV if I recall), so if there are smart developers out there, I'm sure someone will rip off the series(in this case, it would actually be good for the industry, providing the rip-off is actually good ofcourse).

There so aren't enough stealth based games out there(hell if you count all the Tenchu games in the Tenchu series, that probally makes up about half of them, if not more).

I thought there was a Batman Arkham City thread in here, but the search function didn't turn it up (as usual).

I just thought I'd warn everybody. After beating the PC version to my satisfaction I traded it on Goozex for about 850 points, a better deal than elsewhere. A couple of weeks later the guy I traded it to messaged me saying that the game wouldn't let him activate it. We've been back and forth trying to troubleshoot for about a week now and I finally got him to email WB about it. They responded that they will not allow a used game to be activated on a new PC, period, it is locked to one Live account F-O-R-E-V-E-R. Unbelievable. Now, just because I actually want this game to be playable on SOMEBODY's computer I'm trying to figure out how to get that exact copy back from this guy through the Goozex system, and I will have to buy points to give to him if that is even possible.

That pretty much does it folks, it's retro games only for me from now on. This is going to start happening more and more until it will be impossible to buy used games. I hope these companies all burn and sink into the sea.

Wow that sucks donkey balls. I personally hope that some crazy gamer out there blows a gasket, and starts assasinating CEOs/project managers of companies that pull such BS.

If there was any pressure to enjoy one or the other, I doubt I'd pay much attention to it. I allow myself to enjoy the new and the old, which I suppose would make me the best type of gamer.

I never came across any pressure to not enjoy modern games, but it would be silly to be in a retro community if you didn't enjoy older games.

For me, the eras of interest go in waves.

I can take or leave stuff from the early days though there are quite a few gems on the 2600 that I have nostalgia for since it was my first console. I also adore much of the golden age arcade games. I'm much more into the 8-bit and 16-bit eras, these are probably my favorite and what I focus on the most which is logical since it was my childhood. I dislike the early 3D stuff and can pass on most of it but of course there's a lot of games from the era I still love. I was predominantly a PC gamer during this time. The Dreamcast got me back into gaming seriously and that lasted until the current generation where I fell out of it again. I looked for more old-school experiences on the original DS and X-Box Live Arcade which are great and really cater to a gamer like me. I have a few modern games as well, but there aren't many I'm really into.

Just a follow up to the Batman Arkham City fiasco I fell into. I got my game back, and it installed fine, but all of my save files are gone. It seems this is just another aspect of their stupid scheme for making sure nobody can use the game, not even the original owner. This is really disgusting in every possible way.

Are you kidding me, I've installed hundred of games, and programs, never lost save fires due to reinstalling the game, what BS. As corrupt as it is(and It's as corrupt as you can get), atleast there's logic to binding the game to a single PC, but WTF kind of reason could they possibly have, for penalizing you for needing to reinstall a game?

Someone needs to sue their evil asses so bad, they go bankrupt.

It is pretty standard in PC games to ask whether you want to completely uninstall or only partially uninstall, Arkham City did no such thing. I assumed it would leave the save files in my user directory as all other GfwL games do. Arkham Asylum even allowed me to transfer and backup my save files, but they got ambitious with Arkham City. I haven't even looked, but I bet there is a perfectly working hacked download version of this online right now that I should just go ahead and use instead of my full retail original. Idiots.

Yea that it is, It's so screwed up, what was the point of not having a option for a partial uninstall, and what no warning message either tsk tsk tsk. Just like if PC companies are bent on being evil, greedy bitches, they should at very least have the fact It's online only/bound to a single PC or account plastered all over the box, and advertisements(it shouldn't be a god damned secret).

If the stupid unistall atleast prompted a warning message, you could've manually backuped the save file before uninstalling.

Agreed. I've never felt any pressure to take old over new, it's just where I've found myself going. I grew up with the 8-bit to 128-bit eras and decided to stick with them. Gaming after the PS2 just kind of lost me. I've tried some stuff that was before and after my time, like Atari and a few 7th-gen games, but I never got into it the same way.
