Memory Cart Question

I was wondering whether the memory cart for the Mega CD is compatible across all regions. By this, I mean, can I purchase a memory cart for the Sega CD (US) and use it on my PAL Mega CD console?

Memory carts are not region specific in the hardware. They can be with the case - I know the Japanese use a different shape for their carts, and you have to "trim" the cart slot on a US Genesis to use the Japanese cart. As long as it fits the slot, it will work.

I've read other threads where people were buying the Japanese ram carts since they tend to go for cheaper and they all said that they worked for their US sega cd systems. I personally haven't tested this.

I use the same Jap ram cart for all my different systems PAL, NTSC, NTSC-J works great. Works even better if you read Japanese.

I use a Japanese Mega-cart in my X'eye. No problems at all.
