Dead Space ending

I just beat the first dead space in preparation for the second one coming out soon, and I have to say that was one of the shittiest, laziest endings to a modern game I've seen in a long time. Just terrible. I don't get why the game is held in such high regard when so much of it feels really lazy and rushed
Am I alone here?

It's held in high regard because it still plays well enough even with a bad ending.While the ending did suck, it didn't hinder the game in anyway.

Yeah true, I definitely don't think the game sucked overall. The gameplay and graphics were usually pretty good. For me, a lot more than the ending held it back from being a real classic though.
hopefully the second one improves on that stuff, then it'd be amazing

Well maybe I exaggerated a little bit, I was just a bit frustrated that the entire game is a series of fetch quests that lead up to pretty much nothing, I guess I shouldn't depend on a game like that to have a mind blowing plot. I just always heard about how amazing the game was and had high expectations.

It was too obvious Isaac's girlfriend was dead the whole game and I didn't like that they reveal his face in the end when the game went out of it's way to keep him completely anonymous up until that point. The plot in the beginning of the game was interesting, but for me it totally fell apart by the end

It was a pretty good game, and nothing more. Despite its rave reviews, it didn't really offer gamers anything they hadn't seen or played before. I think it was just better than anyone had expected, and that's why it became such a big deal.

I thought it was an incredible game it really blew me away from start to finish i saw nothing wrong with the ending? i mean their was a sequel planned so what kind of ending were you expecting.
