It's a great time for collecting XBox games, what with them being so cheap, and there's plenty of good games for the system too. Here's some of my favourites:

    Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance
A great RPG, if a little linear. Great with friends.

    Beyond Good and Evil
An awesome action-adventure with great style and head-busting puzzles.

    Burnout 2
XBox has 3 Burnout games, but I find #2 the best, because even with the over-the-top additions, it's still about racing at it's heart, whereas 3 & Takedown are more about cheap thrills. It's also the last Burnout game not to feature the horrid EA Trax.

    Call of Cthulu
A really pretty first-person adventure game, in the same vein as the Lovecraft book it's based on.

    Conker's Bad Fur Day
The N64 version is better, but the XBox version is much cheaper and still just as funny.

    Forza Motorsport
Made by people who have a passion for cars and racing. Lots of depth, challenging, and fun.

    Gunvalkyrie
A cool, stylistic third-person shooter that's very challenging.

    Half Life 2
    An interesting first-person shooter.

    Halo
A great firest-person shooter that was revolutionary back in the day.

    Jet Set Radio Future
An easier, if more stylised, sequel to the DC game. Awesome soundtrack too.

    Need for Speed: Most Wanted
A game that harkens back to the origins of the series - you versus a pack of cops.

    Oddworld: Munch's Odessey & Stranger's Wrath
2 really cool platform games that are more about solving puzzles than your usual platformer.

    Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast
A great arcade racing game that reeks of style and fun.

    Panzer Dragoon Orta
A great follow up to Panzer Dragoon Saga.

    Psychonauts
A really intriguing platformer with a wicked sense of humour. A MUST-PLAY!

    Rayman 3
Rayman 2 on DC was better, but this is still a fun platformer.

    Shenmue 2
A great adventure game that's much more interesting and action packed than the original DC game.

    Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
It includes Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter III: Third Strike and the animated Street Fighter II movie. What else could you ask for? (except Alpha 3 maybe).

    Super Monkey Ball Deluxe
Both original Monkey Ball games in one, and it's even got a dumb) story now too. Great arcade-style game and lots of fun multiplayer.

    Timesplitters 2 & Future Perfect
I prefer #2 to FP, but they're both great shooters, by the same core team that made Goldeneye.

    Top Spin
A great tennis game in the vein of Virtua Tennis.

And there's plenty of other games I forget too.

It is blasphemy to not mention "Gauntlet: Dark Legacy".

    BLASPHEMY!

I logged many hours playing "Burnout 3" and the Outrun games.

I also enjoyed the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger games.

    Mortal Kombat: Deception
    Rallisport Challenge 2
    Doom 3: Collector's Edition
(with Ultimate Doom and Doom II: Hell of Earth included)
Burnout 3: Takedown (until you reach the last two races, then it's frustrating as hell)
    Forza Motorsport
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge

    Genma Onimusha
    The Suffering
    The Suffering: Ties That Bind
    Armed & Dangerous
    OutRun 2
    Darkwatch
    Dead or Alive Ultimate
    Dead or Alive 3

    Capcom Classics Collection 1+2
    Metal Slug 3
    Metal Slug 4 & 5

Midway Arcade Treasures 1-3 (3 runs best on the XBox)
    Battle Engine Aquila
    Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1+2
    Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes
(Basically just like the two Dark Alliance games)

There are others (like Airforce Delta Storm, Bloodwake, Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows and whatnot) that I enjoyed, but are probably not on many others' "best" lists.
    Good list.

If you have a modded Xbox, I'd go with Odamex over D3:CE; you can go online with it and play PWADs on it.

I didn't know they released Vol 2 for Xbox - I thought it only got a PS2/PSP release. What's the emulation like?

@Rusty: You lost all credibility the moment you mentioned playing the Ty games. I played the first, but couldn't stand it - felt like a poor man's Crash Bandicoot.

It's good. Like all EMU compilations, it's not perfect (the occasional oddly loud sound effect, etc.), but it's quite good overall, with some fantastic games on it and things to unlock (art, cheats, etc.). Worth getting to be sure (just for Strider, The King of Dragons and Knights of the Round alone).

Yeah, Tecmo Classics is pretty solid.

I'd also recommend Taito Legends 2. It has 4 games (Bubble Symphony, Rayforce, Cadash and Pop N' Pop) not available on the PS2 version.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

Awesome. I have a huge list of games I am going to track down so thanks everbody. First will probably have to be Dead or Alive Xtreme volleyball (How did I not know about this game?).

Lan-Di: I have Psyvariar 2 on Dreamcast, but Shikigami no Shiro looks interesting. Can the xbox play imports or does it need a mod?
