4 classic video game reviews every week - IMPLANTgames on YouTube
From what I've read it doesn't work as advertised... it might bring the latency down on the HD inputs but it doesn't do shit for any of the other Inputs (from what I've read). Those who own HDTVs can comment here where I cannot... I can only speculate from what I've read.
Not to mention the HORROR stories I've read about the PC Inputs being a complete FUCKING joke... rendering the PC to less than the full screen for example... for 'no' reason.
If only that were true.... hardware companies wouldn't make devices specifically for dealing with Input Latenices on HDTVs.
Yup. I tried turning off Game Mode on my HDTV, to see if that would let it take an input signal from a PSOne game playing on a PS2 through component cables. Still nothing. Without that box I wanna buy, there's no way I'll be able to enjoy anything pre-PS2 on anything more than S-video. I mean S-video is nice and all, but I really would like to get THE best image possible off my older systems and games.
He is talking about RGB-SCART. No mod required. Just a cable.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.
Then we set about developing killer games.

What Christuserloeser said. It's more of a workaround than a mod.
Hey guys,
It is time that everyone interested in this topic becomes "educated" when it comes to using their CSY2100 (and clones) with modern LCD TV's.
I have spent the past couple of days reading http://retrogaming.hazard-city.de/ and it is such an awesome site.
I believe the HD Box Pro (or equivalent) meets my needs, since I already own a CSY2100 clone now. HOWEVER - and unfortunately - that website doesn't cover the case of using a RGB SCART to Component converter and plugging this into a HD Box Pro or something else that outputs VGA or HDMI.
Can you imagine that? Two intermediary video conversion devices (CSY2100 + Hd Box Pro) with two power supplies, on top of all the cabling to the TV and the game console, just to get the damn thing working?
It seems like overkill - but would it work? Or would it be redundant, because what if the RGB SCART to Component signal isn't preserved when outputted from the HD Box Pro?
I'd really like to hear from someone who has achieved this. How about stating your region and type of TV and Console, along with your experiences.
Myself:
Samsung 50" LCD HDTV - PAL. No SCART inputs, only component in, and etc.
Electroview 32" LCD TV - PAL. Again, no SCART inputs, only component in, and etc.
Sega megadrive - PAL, but region modded for both 50hz and 60hz.
What I don't understand is why the damn video cuts out, and black screen with invalid signal error, when the console is switched to 60hz and connected through the CSY2100 to the Samsung TV? The mod works perfectly, because it works when connected through composite.
The Electroview LCD TV doesn't show anything on the screen at all, regardless if the 50hz or 60hz mode is selected..
