I was looking around for the Genesis color palette, and came across this. Reviving the dead thread!
Watch Vectorman hit 88 colors. And of course, there are the tricks used for Toy Story:

They're nice technical tricks, but in the end, they don't matter much to me. Vectorman still looks meh to me. Other games seem more colorful while using fewer colors.
Despite its use of colors, what I think is prettiest in Vectorman is the animation. It's so fluid.
I've always liked the use of colors in Vectorman and think it looks good.
Amen, Genesis had much better animation esp in sports games like nhl 94. Maybe its the "off the shelf parts - NES ad" chip or programmers or both =)
Vectorman was very impressive for its time graphically (look at my avatar =). Not of fan of the music genre used, but I can listen to it and it is very fitting for the game/story. It was a bit basic, more of a hey look at these graphics run n gun, but its a perfectly great game.
