Indeed. But it looks like it's in great shape, has everything (even the inserts), and most importantly the tea cup which is basically 3/4 of that total price.Of the 5000 some odd copies that are known to have been printed, you had to enter a drawing to get one of the 300 or so tea cups when the game was released.
So it's like, an even MORE rare piece of an already SUPER RARE game.

what about japan only titles like new zealand story.....?
not super-duper rare, but 'collectable' nonetheless!
def worth a mention if we're talking splatterhouse / contra etc in the "rare" category
How is anybody suggesting Contra HC or Castlevania Bloodlines are rare?!
Both games had reprints and were readily available new in box up through the early 2000s.
Try not to confuse "sought after" with "rare."
new Zealamd Story?! ...another mass produced game that can be found for sale on the internet any day of the week.
Only idiots are suggesting the Splatterhouse or Contra games are rare.
There were no doubt thousands of copies of those games produced.
Again, up through the early 2000s it was pretty easy to find sealed copies of the Splatterhouse games.

....YEAH?!?!? FUCKIN EEEE-DEEE-OTTTZZZZ!!!!!!?!?!??!
Got an inconvenient question. There is a black and white card among the goodies in the picture for Panorama Cotton in that listing. Can somebody tell me what it says? It's just it has a Super 32X on the front. I love hearing about things that never came to be concerning the 32X. So much wasted potential...
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker was never on any rarity list before he died, and the game has not become rare after that just because people started selling their copies for outrageous prices in time with that.

Exactly. Games like Moonwalker, Contra, Castlevania, Splatterhouse, etc were flagship titles for the biggest name publishers on the system, with significant advertising behind each game. These were mass market items foe the Genesis. Tens if not 100s of thousands of these were sold. Sorry for suggesting anyone is an idiot, I just get tired of these poorly reasoned rarity threads and the predictable rediculous responses.
People just get it into their heads that price equals rarity and that's not the case at all and eBay sellers run with it.
Very true because once someone on ebay gets a rediculous sell then everyone else thinks they can sell at that price.
And I thought that tea cup with Panorama Cotton was produced with half the copies of the game not only 300 now I'm like wow since I actually use the one I got ahaha
