Nice! How'd you do the 3d rendering?
I'm diggin' the Knuckles the Echidna cover art. My only gripe is the fact that it says " in Sonic 1". I'd prefer "Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog." It's sound more proper/official but who am I to complain. The background art is awesome on the front cover and the character design style of Knuckles is on par with the 90s Sonic design on the back cover of the original. Very awesome!. As a whole, this is an awesome collection of hi-res cover art.
Also, is the Sonic 2 Lost Worlds supposed to be for the Sonic 2 Long version hack or was there another ROM hack released which restored the cut beta levels?

Awesome stuff!
Really good! Maybe the blue is a bit too light on the EU covers. Are you going to make manuals as well?

I certainly plan to. I just need to fix up the art, the scan that I have isn't the best quality.
If anyone has any artwork for this game and doesn't mind sending it my way, I'd greatly appreciate it.
You mean for the box previews? I use a program called Imandix. It allows you to create 3D previews of just about any media storage box.
Thanks! I was thinking about making it Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog, but it sounds so awkward to say. Also sounds like a perverted furry fantasy if you think about it... All the Knuckles art is actually official Sega artwork that I found on sonicretro.org, I kept the design as close to the original Sonic 1 cover as I could. If you want I can make you a custom version that will say Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog, it'll only take a minute for me.
As for Sonic the Lost Worlds, it's a different hack from Sonic 2 Long version, check it out: http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_the...he_Lost_Worlds There are actually a few rom hacks that restore the beta levels, some are better than others, I find this is the best one.
Thanks! You know I also thought the blue might be a little too light, but I based my template off the one the guys at The Cover Project developed, their work is really solid, so I trust their judgment on the blue, especially since I don't have that many MD games to compare. Also, I've found that the covers get a little darker when you print them, but I've yet to test out the MD ones. If anything, I'll just update them.
As per manuals, I'm planning to start making some soon and am really looking forward to it. I just need to figure out all the logistics of how to put them together so the pages are in the right order, etc...

Good work! I often make my own covers. I do have some non-repro suggestions, though.
How about covers for all of the paper-box 32X games? Covers for all of the paper-box Genesis games would be great as well for those like me who like to keep all/most of their collection in plastic clamshells. No need to design a sticker for these, of course. These should be based on/designed exactly like the artwork on the real cardboard boxes, just made to slip into a plastic clamshell.
Yeah, do what Joey said. The murder of cardboard boxes for makeshift inserts needs to stop!
I always just scan my cardboard boxes and keep them fully intact. But a stitched-together scan wouldn't be as good as the same thing redesigned.
