    Default Emulation Controller

What is a good Controller to use for my PC so that i can try to play games in Emulation?

Lets face it, using a keyboard as the controller sucks, which is why i prefer to play on real hardware.

I also want to find a muilti-purpose controller, since someday i will get back into the NES, SNES and N64 as well, in both emulation and real hardware and games.

In my case I use a USB to playstation adapter. It lets you plug a pair of PS2 dualshock 2s in. It's my opinion that the dualshock is pretty well the best of the traditional gamepads. I use it for all sorts of things.

No, if I recall correctly a standard 360 controller should already work as is (at least on Windows XP onwards where it has XInput, DirectInput needs drivers I think but it's still the same hardware).

Your keyboard should jump off your desk and slap your face for mentioning the xbox 360 pad with its horrible D-pad

SiK, so the Xbox 360 Controller should work with Windows 7?

Yeah, it works out of the box.
PS3 pads work too, but you need drivers and a button config for it.
If you have an XBOX pad, you shouldn't need to ask whether or not it works. It's not like the thing explodes if you plug it in to try.

Not perfect with lacking rumble, but my Saitek P990 is as close to a Dualshock 1 / Saturn hybrid I know of. 6 buttons front, 4 top, AND dual analog.

SEGA Saturn SLS 6-button controller with shoulder buttons.
(not to be confused with the cheap rip-offs)

its light weight, but has a long cord.
had mine for 2 years already, never had a problem

I've heard fantastic things about those USB Saturn controllers, FWIW.

I use this baby for Genesis and SNES games.

    Works pretty well.
