Default Would you buy Nokia WP7 phone?

I was thinking to buy the n9 later but since nokia is canceling linux phones and made announcements of starting to deliver Windows Phone 7 phones.

Here is the preview of Nokias first WP7 phone:

Too me it looks so hot! I am considering to buy this instantly when it is released. I just hope that nokia delivers all the great features of symbian to WP7 and we have the absolute winner phone.

I've got a LG Quantum 7 windows phone and I love it. You'll have to wait till the fall before they come out with any models though. My wife and I both got one and she is really digging hers as well. It's fast and the screen is crisp.

I say play around with a WP7, an android, Blackberry and an iOs phone and see for yourself, but I certainly wouldn't tell you which phone not to buy. I think there compelling reasons for all of them and you really can't go wrong. The competition is great for the industry.

Well, stock has been going downhill in the past 3 years. If you feel like taking a chance, now is the time to buy (stock). If they manage to get something decent out before other companies flush them out, they might still survive.

And there are no great features in Symbian, that platform has been dead for years! They've only had two good phones (N8, N900) during the last 5 years!

I haven't owned a Nokia since my 2160. It was crap. So I am never going to buy a product from them again!

I have a N8, and it looks like they are going to discontinue updating it, which sucks cause the firmware is still PR1.0 on mine.. Some people got 1.1 but I haven't yet..
Customized Sega Genesis Model 1 - VA3. Energy efficient with buck converters instead of LM7805's.

I don't like the WP7 interface, it's kinda neat at first but doesn't seem nearly as practical as the Android/iOS one.

It's also missing a ton of features, not to mention the lack of apps.

Why people needs so much apps, the basic phone, text message is enough for my social needs. I phone to my wife or mates and some time get text messages. I last played nokia worm game during the 90's on 5110.

If that's all you need then you don't need an WP7 phone either, get a cheap one.

Also you need to go play Angry Birds, NOW.

My android phone could handle most of the day-to-day things I use my desktop computer for. It fits in my pocket.

It's not for my social needs. It's for looking something up on the internet. Chatting on IRC. Playing games. Looking up TeX symbols by drawing them (no need to remember \otimes again!) Listening to music, podcasts, et cetera. Tweeting.

It's an extremely capable device that lets me avoid lugging about my laptop unless I need to do something serious. I use it as an actual phone only rarely. It's a pocket computer.

So you already had the phone you need. I have over 30 custom apps installed on my phone and I doubt I could even use it with less than 20 (not counting the pre-installed apps). I want a phone that has it all: browsing, e-mail, news, stock, forums, eBay, PayPal, Dropbox etc. etc. That way I don't need to lug a netbook or some other damn device with me all the time.
