Just to mention, Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts is available on various systems as well (SNES, XBox, PS1, PS2, GBA and Saturn to name a few). For shame on your laziness, only listing the SNES!

And while I know some people are going to scoff at this, I gotta give a Halloween nod to the PS2 game Altered Beast (get/play the PAL version... it's in full English with a 60Hz mode). It's Resident Evil-levels of cheesy with the dialogue and such, but it's an enjoyable, gory game filled with monsters, the undead, and it has quite a few beasts for you to transform into and power up.

But Super Ghouls n' Ghosts is simply emulated, not full-on ported like the other two. Well I'd have to see the GBA, I guess.

I thought about including Altered Beast on the PS2, but I hate it too much to dredge up the PS2 just for that game. It was given to me brand new for free.

Aren't the Saturn and PS1 versions in Capcom Generation 2 actually ports? I could have sworn they were just very accurate ports, and not being run via emulation like the various Capcom Classics Collection versions.

    ...

Wait. You hate the PS2 Altered Beast, but included horrid games like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Friday the 13th on the NES? Do you know how many lives and Halloween's you've ruined with that choice? DO YOU?! Somewhere, a YouTuber is going to fire up those games and sob tears of betrayal at your including them with the other games that were good. Then they'll slit their wrists, come back as ghosts, and haunt you and Dave on Halloween every year for the rest of your lives.

    I hope you're happy now.

I have never seen this game before but it looks badass and it could've been Sega's answer to Castlevania.

Master of Darkness is so damn good... One of the few reasons to load a SMS game in the Everdrive MD.
I like the music and the graphics are surprisingly well animated and detailed for an 8-bit game. The gameplay is like Castlevania, but I prefer this over Bloodlines...

Meant as a total compliment, Joe.

Although, S. Baldwin took that cig to the eye for real in Suspects, so he's got that going for him, I suppose...
Ron Perlman is awesome! I'd rather look like him than a Baldwin any day.

Some snotty chicks in middle school, many many moons ago, compared me to Brenden Frasier in Encino Man. I had not seen the movie, but I considered the comparison to a cave man somewhat insulting and complimentary at the same time.

Gah! Why didn't Sega upgrade that to a Genesis game? (given it was released in '92)

It looks and sounds great for an SMS game (probably one of the best SMS soundtracks I've heard -nice work catering to the PSG's pitch limitations and nice use of reverb/echo), but for a 1992 game, why limit it to such a niche? (Europe budget market with the SMS and the handheld market)

Mr. Bones ain't bad! I actually really like that game, although I can appreciate that it's not to everyone's tastes. But it certainly isn't worth singling out over a game like Friday the 13th, though.

You think that's rough? Kids in my school were always comparing me to Jim Morrison, because I kinda looked like him and I love The Doors.

Don't forget Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was included in that montage.

Mr. Bones isn't bad. I was just making a jab at SEGA and it came off wrong. I would much rather play Mr. Bones then Jeckyl and Hyde or Friday the 13th. I would actually rather play it then Silent Hill(series).

As the guy who had to play every stage in Mr. Bones, I can tell you that it pretty much sucks as a game. As a concept, it is great and I like how there is a lot of variety. The control is wonky at best. You lose some bones and it is hard as hell to pick them back up.
