I love the EUR Dreamcast cases. I prefer the design over the boring overused slim jewl cases that Japan and the US got. IMO game case designs should be somewhat unique for their respective consoles. The only downside to them as Joe said is that the teeth that hold the disc's break easily and I often find myself hunting down replacement cases half the time whenever I get a new game for the system.

    Also, Blue Swirl FTW.

Thanks, man. I did read it on Wikipedia a couple of years ago when I thought of getting some Xbox games to play on the 360, though.

Shame Microsoft had to do it by emulation instead of true backwards compatibility...

Isn't it weird that the only backwards compatible consoles nowadays are Nintendo consoles? I mean, before the Wii, NONE of them (sans the GBC and GBA) had backwards compatibility.

Raiden was my very first PSx game I ever played so it has a special place in my heart. Now Shenmue good grief Ryo was so fuckin stiff in that game. And it did get boring at times but I did beat it. Shenmue 2 was much better but I got stuck at sum QTE that I did abotu 20 times in a row and I gave up trying to beat it. I think if Shenmue had the personality choices of say a Commander Sheppard then it would've been a bad ass game.

Does the Xbox version of Shenmue 2 really look as bad compared to the DC version as it looks in the video? I may have to hunt down the PAL game, I've only played the Xbox version, but I just started playing Shenmue 1 again.

The textures look a little muddy/blurry on the Xbox version.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."

That Genny Aladdin gameplay at the beginning made me itchy somehow. Ouch, I can't scratch it!

I was also very impressed with the Game Gear version. I went into it thinking it was yet another downport like the NES got, and walked out pretty overwhelmed with the number of animated cutscenes and overall prince of persia style gameplay. That was impressive.

And thanks for the consolation. I didn't know there was a Game Boy version to redeem the awful NES downport. The gameplay sure looks better.

    Good call.

People really need to look past the animation and graphics and realize that this is actually a very clumsy and awkward game. The controls are iffy, the hit detection is the pits, the level design is sprawling and confusing, and the ending is anti-climactic. I seriously like this game less and less each time someone gives it fellatio here on this site. I just don't like it when people's opinions differ from my own.

So which versions of The Great Circus Mystery and Maui Mallard are better? I tend to find platformers better on Genesis, but not always.

I have to disagree on the 8 bit Illusion games. I think they're better than the Genesis versions, especially CoI. Good video, though. I had no idea there were so many versions of Aladdin.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.
