I'm shocked Dave did all the Tecmo Bowl games, yet forgot the sequel Tecmo Super Bowl on NES (which is a very good game). There's also a Tecmo Bowl and Bases Loaded on Gameboy as well.

When I saw the title the of the episode I thought "I waited two weeks for this?", but as always you guys made it entertaining and enjoyable. I was surprised Dave didn't talk about Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run. I mean, Rare made it so you'd think he'd be all over it.

Decent episode... no NBA Jam, though? Huh...
All this Sega Sports™, yet no Virtua Racing?

I, too, was blown away in the summer of 1990 when I first saw and played Neo-Geo Baseball Stars at a local games shop. I salivated for that game, especially as I was a huge fan of baseball games back in those days (I still own quite a few on the NES (Baseball Stars 1 & 2, Bad News Baseball, Tecmo Baseball, Bases Loaded, Dusty Diamond, Little League Baseball: all good to great games IMO, especially NES Baseball Stars which is probably my most played game ever, lol), Super Nintendo and Genesis). The graphics and animation for Neo-Geo Baseball Stars were mind blowing back then. Like most people, I never owned a Neo-Geo and never will, thus I couldn't help but feel let down when I realized that it was Baseball Stars 2 that appeared on the PS2 Neo-Geo compilation I purchased several years ago. Oh well.
P.S. Enjoyable show! Since Joe is a big Sega fan, I would have loved to hear his opinion of World Series Baseball and World Series Baseball II on the Saturn ("hidden" gems that I discovered recently and which my 7 year-old loves to play, lol - these arcadey Japanese titles are also very different from their namesake on the Genesis) and any of the Virtua Tennis titles BUT the one on the Dreamcast (e.g. World Tour, 3 or 4). I am especially fond of number 4 on the PS3, for what it's worth (haven't played much of the others I mentioned though).
P.P.S. To the poster who mentioned NBA Jam... I love NBA Jam as much (or more) than most people (well, Tournament Edition at least), but I feel that NBA Jam being so well known kind of goes against what the show tries to accomplish, i.e. not picking the (too) obvious as NBA Jam surely is (it was a PHENOMENON back in 93/94). But, that might just be my take.

The comments are true democracy. They have no accountability, they don't even have to have the same opinion tomorrow. It's awesome. Also, Bases Loaded makes me physically ill, but it is some sort of weird memory issue from playing it for a week while I had a nasty stomach flu. I loved the game before that even though I already had Great Baseball.

You associate Bases Loaded with being ill. It's hard to shake that. I associate Aero the Acrobat and Vectorman with great quantities of vomit. Very hard for me to like those games though I might try again with Vectorman.
Or just do an episode about lame comments (be real snarky and call it "Games We Didn't Feature" and give a hundred things two seconds of weak coverage each) and the like. It bums me out that you guys provide a half hour of entertainment for free every two weeks, and it's always about what you didn't do as opposed to what you did. I guess there needed to be a montage at the end of every single sports game ever to shut people up.
For me, as with pretty much every episode, I took away what looked poor and I won't give a try (Bases Loaded, for example), and what looked like it might be fun and worth trying (Decathalon, the sequel to Evander Holyfield boxing).
The end sketch (as always) was great. Dave really shines in those segments.

I agree shouting about missing games is total nonsense given the sports catalogue in the genesis alone.
We dont have to agree on Joe's comments, though I suspect we are many to do it most of the time, to enjoy this great show.
That said, I think everyone could give the genesis sports games a break. There were many that were utter sh**, but how many dreadful platformers (even from the top budget pseudo AAA titles like Bubsy) did we get for the genesis and how many of you are constantly saying "platformer games suck" ?
There are some dozens (not many more, tough) of great genesis sports games and some of them get bashed just because they take a sport for the starting point of the gameplay. It's like all of a sudden everyone hated puzzle games or RPG games and then the whole community stated that almost all sports games suck BECAUSE they are sports games.
Also racing games do not seem to deserve the same fate. I dont get why they are not included in that consideration. Racing may or may not be considered a sport, gameplay usually can be associated with other sports games, when trying to class games by genre. Also chess is officially considered a sport, so that makes chess games sports games or puzzle/board games? I support the latter and I dont mind racing games not being considered sports games.
So yeah I personally absolutely hate all rail shooters, but I'll never say Panorama Cotton is a bad game or that every rail shooter game almost always suck because it is a doomed genre. Come on, the ratio between good vs bad soccer games must be at least as good as the one between good and bad platformer games on the Megadrive.
Also, do not forgetting they were driving the sales and it's what the genesis will be remembered the most for along with Sonic and maybe shooters. It's not the most important point but it is there.
Also Super Tennis but no blablabla???? joking. Selection was great. It must serve the purpose of the episode, so I understand you getting tired of no this or no that. Please bear that it is our first reaction when watching. We are human with feelings towards our consoles.
