I've been enjoying having to listen to these episodes as I work, great commentary.

I'd like to see an episode on poorly translated games. Zero Wing might be an obvious one but games like Crusader of Centy have almost laugh out loud moments it's so broken at times.

Caught a few episodes of this yesterday and they were great. Hilarious stuff.

Also seen the episode on sports games. I was surprised to see the Madden coverage, which was good. Only thing I disagreed with was with Madden 96, I love the way it looks(the only one where you could see the players numbers on their uni's, which was mind blowing back in the day) and I like the little touches of extra animation, plus the music and sound is great.

I did play some Madden yesterday, a game of Madden 93(Atlanta vs New Orleans) and Madden 95(Vikings vs Buccaneers). It's pretty remarkable how much they improved the AI from 93 to 95. The earlier games are so easy but by 95 you seen some clever AI. I was able to beat New Orleans pretty easily on 93(though Rickey Jackson, #57, got 3 sacks and an interception) but the Minnesota vs Tampa game was a dogfight. I lost 23-16 in a really fun game where I had 3 sacks(1 was for a safety), an interception returned for a touchdown, and six tackles playing as John Randle on defense. I turned the ball over four times on offense and gave the game away. Trent Dilfer somehow transformed into Joe Montana in the fourth quarter and burned me for the winning TD. I was so pissed.

There is a learning curve with Madden 95-96 with the defense, once you figure out how to shut the pass down the games become easy. Madden 97-98 on the other hand are just strait up tough. I always get my ass handed to me when I play those, the AI is pretty smart. Those penalties though, holy shit. Definitely got to go through the menu and turn those off, they get pretty ridiculous.

Yeah seeing the player's numbers in 96 was good but the field just looked all sorts of wrong. It was clearly drawn by someone who doesn't understand how perspective works. The numbers downfield are HUGE!

Great episode.

Impressive lineup of games you chose to show the system off with, including some I'm not familiar with. I would never have guessed that the 3 Ninjas game had full scaling sections, not that they look very good however.

Great episode, the only thing I'd change is to take out the Ecco games (leaving those for a "slightly improved games on the Sega CD" episode) and add in Lords of Thunder and Eternal Champions CD.

Including Road Avenger was a good choice, gotta point out the only good FMV game.

What a great episode. Really nice and in-depth. Of course there's always something more you could have shown (Dune is underrated IMO), but what you did was great.
