It was enjoyable but god was it starting to hurt my eyes, I am not use to that type of old recording look.

I was so excited to be a part of this episode making the Sega CD FMV.

I used the Cinepak for Sega format that I recently disassembled and can make use of. Doing this made me work with it futher (for example I figured out how to stop the video early, how to sync events to the video timing for the after credit lights, and made great strides in my video frame conversions such as colored ordered dither).

You can download the ISO/CUE at the following location (if it doesn't work, try again another day since bandwidth may be limited if too many people download it today).

    https://dl.dropbox.com/u/26821164/GAMESACK.ZIP

The file system on the CD also includes a description of each of the videos (in README.TXT), a DVD case cover (in DVDCOVER/GAMESACK.PNG), and all the source code.

^^Thanks again, Brian! I was amazed that anyone could even do this, but to do it this well blew me away.

Now you need to do one on modern games, with you and Dave fully rendered and in high def.

The video could have been vastly improved if you oversaturated the colors in source video. This seems to yield good results everytime I decrease color counts. Playing around with contrast helps fair bit too.

It was quite awesome to see Game Sack from MCD ^^

The appeal FMVs have for me is that most of them make me feel like I'm in an 80s/90s Disney World/Universal Studios ride (kind of how they prep you with videos while you're waiting in line). It's kind of nostalgic for me, especially since they've faced-out almost all of the original rides.

Excellent episode Joe, I was not one that fell in love with those FMV games back in the day, always felt like they were a waste of time.

I don't think so. We would have had a look I wouldn't have wanted and probably a lower framerate. Once I saw how Camera 3 turned out, I suddenly wanted everything to look like that. We left Camera 2 as is because I like how it can't decide whether my shirt should be black, blue or red as the screen behind us zooms in. Just like when half of someone's face turns pink in Night Trap or some such thing.

Nice episode. I wish ya'll would've covered Power Rangers I have 2 copies of that turd ass game and it is w/o a doubt the worst FMV game EVER. I would love to try some of those anime FMV games such as Road Avenger and Cobra Command.

I usually steer clear of Power Rangers period. However I did see Power Rangers the Movie (Genesis version, if there are others) being played live on TwitchTV. It had some really good music! It was made by SIMS, world-famous for Out Run 2019.

Of the massively few Power Rangers games I've ever played I still consider MMPR The Movie's Genesis version to be the best one. Helps that it's the one I grew up with.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.
