What the HELL Joe! You didn't push the volume all the way up when you put the Road Avenger disc in.

    I am very dissapointed.

Actually, he should have turned it up, and then turned it down when the in-game portions started . . . to emphasize the overly loud SFX. (thankfully -on a model 1 Genesis using the mixing port- you can manually turn down the genesis sounds for several games that use really loud FM/PSG sounds at normal volume -Lord of Thunder is a lot worse than Road Avenger though)

You're screwed on model 2s, CDX, etc though.

What's interesting is I recorded the in-game audio for the video straight out of the Genesis headphone jack (no mixing cable used), so take that as you will.

Ah OK, so you didn't boost the CD's sound in that case. (listening again, it does sound rather like I'm used to hearing it -as I've mostly played it in fusion, which obviously is stuck with the default mixing volumes)

On that note, you did compare the volume from the headphone jack to the mixing port before, right (and confirmed that the volume levels matched almost perfectly with the hedphone jack at max volume)?

I haven't done that test in a while. I just recorded it that way because it was about 100 times more convenient to do so and I knew the volume would be lowered so my incredible voice could be heard.

Great topic! Hope you guys do some more episodes focusing on guilty pleasures, they're always fun to hear. My only suggestion for improvement would be to increase the running time of each episode to an hour long. No... three hours! And it sucks when I finish an episode and I have to wait a whole week for another one, can you guys do something about that?

All kidding aside, great job! You guys just keep getting better and better.

Of course it was Dave's cart. I'd NEVER play or own a game like that. Dave uses the excuse that he is going for a full US Genesis collection but I don't believe him, especially since he bought it for $59.95 brand new back when it was released.

Hahah, that ending did make me laugh. Also, I loved Hard Driven' on Genesis for basically the same reason. I think I lost interest in it when I got my driver's permit and that's about it.

So hey, even with the various forums that know about Gamesack you still only have 24 viewers? Man, that's what I get for my comparison vids without advertising.

    -edit-

546 subscribers and 41,000+ video views! Hey, was that some sort of sympathy marketing ploy?

Funny episode. I thought I was the only person that enjoys Hard Drivin'. Used to played the arcade a lot and bought the Genesis version when it first came out. For some reason I was so impressed with the game and played it for countless hours.
