If anybody was disappointed with the wii like i was then dont fall for the same trick twice, the wii-u is gonna be just as gimmicky as the wii with just as much shovelware.

Above all that controller puts me off,it looks interesting but its just not going to work well with games, maybe some games but not the majority. And they also killed off the casual userbase with that controller because nobody will have a clue how to use it.

Remember the whole wii craze where people of all ages could have a quick go of wii sports? aint gonna happen with this stupid tablet.

I agree, seeing all the craze with Smartphones and Tablets going on, it seems that using a Touchscreen as a control device will ESPECIALLY appeal to the more casual gamer. If you view iOS-games as a "gateway system", then many people who started gaming more casually with touchscreen controls might make an easier transition towars the WiiU- than to a more "complicated", classic controller.
The funny thing about an oxymoron is, even if you remove the ox, there'll always be a moron. The Question Remains: Y?

Iphone is pretty easy though its just a blank slate and its taken off because anyone with an iphone has already had time to get used to the touch screen, the games are cheap so its a logical step to take, will these same people go out and buy a wii-u? i doubt it,look at the wii u controller its a lot more complicated and requires you to use it in conjunction with the tv holding it up, doesn't look pick up and play to me.

I predict the wii-u is going to tank badly but i could be completely wrong.

Nintendo made a load of money on the Wii and now it is on to bigger and arguable better things such as the 3DS and Wii U. Almost six years on the shelves tells me it is time to bring in something new. That's not to say it should be totally abandoned but current Wii owners don't seem to be a concern anymore. The library is solid enough to capture those still sitting on the fence after all these years and I think that is who Nintendo cares about these days. I also think the company needs to be realistic already and not only drop the price permanently (this Xmas) but revamp the Selects Line to something more approachable and enticing. Come to think of it, another Selects or Player's Choice line should be released for the DS.

I don't think it will tank no matter how dumb it ends up being. If Nintendo fans are anything they're dependable.

Actual hardcore fans only make up a small portion of their userbase, they cant be relied on to sell systems, its all about how it appeals to the casual userbase.

Nintendo learned the key to sales is shovelware - make tons of cheap throw-away games as often as possible. Kids are fickle, cheap, and have a short attention span: i.e., they're the perfect demographic for shovelware.

Guys, I said "WTF" because it was the easiest way to express my feeling of confusion and surprise through text. It in no way reflects how I am in real life.

Sadly it does, please turn in your bible and that white choir boy outfit that the priests seem to like so much,
also, don't forget you signed a non disclosure document so no blogging about Father Mulcahy and his love for little boys.
