Current games suck because they mostly concentrate on one genre and even if not,
then you can bet they are trying to make it as realistic as possible.
Nothing wrong with realism in video games, but I need me some diversity goddamn.
Can't play brown fpshooters all day just to switch it for some realistic flight simulators
(those suck always) and then play some realistic sports games (suck almost always).
I played this today and beat the bomb level, "Rat Race". Maybe I'll beat "Clinger-Winger" next time.

I have been to the end of this game, but it took hours. Hours upon hours of tedious, repetitive, difficult challenge. I love a good challenge of course, but Battletoads plays more like Dragons Lair for me in that it is really about dying constantly, and remembering what NOT to do the next time around. Even the platforming levels are pretty much like this. There is little to no opportunity after the first stage for an initial "clean" run, because you learn as you die. It requires some heavy reflexes, but more than that, perfect memorization of what is to come.
It's a good game, no doubt. Fiendish in its way. But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is not already into platform hell style games, or games that are notoriously, maddeningly challenging.
I DID beat Clinger-Winger the next time, which was today. Finally figured out how to do it, you have to be very near the edges/walls when changing direction. Revolution, the next level, reminded me of the Stair Wars level in Dynamite Headdy. I didn't see much of it :P.

With a game genie code for infinite lives, and using the three warps, I went through the whole thing. The most difficult levels to get past were the rat race (the third section of the level took me at least 20 tries, until I had it memorized in every single detail) and the revolution (really really frustrating...) I found clinger winger to be quite easy compared to the atrocities you have to went through before...
BTW, the last boss is a joke and the ending sucks really badly.
for those who have finished Lotus Challenge last track (password is TEA CUP for those interested), how does difficulty compare?

How do you get this to work?!?! I tried multiple times entering this at the title screen, but nothing happens. I checked a bunch of sites and they all say the same thing. I must be doing something wrong...
Can someone with the game try the code and tell me if it works pleeeaasee?

I watched a playthrough of this game the other day. The guy ran through the entire game without dying. I walked away from the experience knowing that I'll never see the end of the game by my own doing, which of course makes me wonder why I bother keeping two copies of the game. It's a game that most people can't help but like (myself included), but Battletoads doesn't want to be liked. Some games just want to see the world burn.
I hate Bastardtoads, regardless of the platform.
If every game was as easy as Bomberman on NES, we'd all be bored out of our minds, lacking a challenge.
WARNING: The post above may or may not be utter nonsense, but it's best to assume that it is.
There's challenge, and then there's: "Whomever designed this level probably pushes wooden splinters under their own fingernails for fun!"
I still don't think Battletoads is that hard, apart from the final level which is a bit ridiculous. I've played much harder, and much more frustrating games.
You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
