Default Windows 7 is too much for my comp. cant install XP!! Error in registry?

It says error on line 67 of INF file when I try to run the restore disk that deletes my HD

I have another restore disk that gave me two different errors on 4 different occasions

All you can do is to try to get another disc from somewhere

No, but seriously, you can buy a copy off eBay, for a few bucks, of you look hard enough, I recommend getting a sealed copy.

Try boiling the disc. You can also take scratches out with tooth paste sometimes.

    I didn't actually mean do it >.>
Well, if you do, CD-RW and DVD-R/RWs work too.
be sure to get the cracked edition that doesn't require a key code (unless you have the sticker on your pc case somewhere.)
If you do have the CD key on your case, just download the non-cracked version, and everything should be ok.
That way you get all the support options from Microsoft (upgrades, etc.)

    Wouldn't that warp the disc?

I saved my Castlevania of the Night that way but I won't deny it was a bit scary. Yeah could make it worse.

ohhhhhhhh I see what you are trying to do now.

No, you can't downgrade from win7 to XP.
However you can, if you put enough time into it.

First question, do you have an external HDD? some other mass-storage device?
Or do you have 2 HDDs in your comp? Is one of them empty?

If so, just move ALL the files you want to keep to that storage device.

Start-up the win XP cd, choose delete partition, select the one that doesn't hold all your files. After it has deleted that partition, win 7, and its registry is GONE FOREVER.
After that, you can install XP as you normally would, after you finally get your comp all set up, start Internet Explorer, and download the latest video card and sound card drivers, then your LAN/Wifi Drivers, etc.

After that, REPLACE THE ABOMINATION KNOWN AS INTERNET EXPLORER.
Might I recommend Firefox with Ad Block Plus?

What you need is a new PC bro.
There really shouldn't be much of a problem running 7 if you have over 2gb of ram. If it's a really old pc you can turn off a bunch of stuff (like aero) to get extra performance out of it.

No need to replace the whole computer. Get a Linux disk, format the hard drive under that and there will be nothing left, THEN install XP with no errors.

Also that stated above, and I like Chrome browser. But I have deleted a partition with an XP disk and even then some files hang round to mess up your install. I prefer the Linux way (but both may work, depends on the machine).

If he has a windows 7 CD he can wipe the disk with that. No need to download linux. I assume he does since he wants to go BACK to XP.

Win7 will leave traces of it, I did this not too long ago, my answer was Linux live disk, no problems after that.
