Default Is it possible to build a new Game Gear?

Allow me to explain: It was just a thought I had. Since the GG has a notoriously bad screen, is it possible to sort of... Ben Heck one up using the innards of an actual GG, new casing, etc., but with a modern screen, stereo sound (if that's even possible), and much less battery consumption?

Yes it is, but outputting the video to a modern screen is tricky. Not sure if you have seen it, but when you convert the GG's video to an external screen it is has abig border around it. I have modified one of my Game Gears so it isn't so portable anymore and it connects straight to a TV via composite. I used a board from a chap called Viletim on smspower. This has been discussed at length on that site. You would need a large monitor/screen, just to show an image at the approximate right size.

This is the fellow that developed the board's website. Have a look at the image on the monitor.

Well, you can always try to implement everything on a FPGA that have very low compsumption

But then you won't be able to play originales games, only games loaded from SD (as catridges use 5v TTL instead of the usual 3.3v LV-TLL from FPGAs)

The carts won't have problems with 3.3V power supply, only thing that changes is response time of the ROM and I don't think SMS/GG ever max out the ROM speed.
