    I'm not sure where to begin here...
    NFL 98 was the best football game no one knew about. It has been documented in several publications that the "slider" additions used in this game were groundbreaking and still used in the Madden games of today. It is one of the few sports games for the Genesis that is not only challenging, but you actually LOSE at times. The game does have its flaws but the gameplay is great and the statistics are realistic.

    I've played NFL 98. I thought it was okay and at least you could see a wider view than Madden but your game views were still limited. I agree that the sliders were good for handicapping certain parts of the game. But it's a complete step backwards from 94 in terms of playcalling. The graphics and audio are superior in 94, in my opinion. NFL 94 is a tough opponent on the hardest setting, too.

    I think Sega should have continued with the 94 engine and continued to improve it rather than dumping it for an entirely different game.
