too old for video games huh?
Jewel Master
It's the first game I ever bought for my Genny (the day after Christmas '92). To this day I've never beaten it. I always die at the same boss. Though I haven't given it a try in about six years.
Be Attitude For Gains!
Jewel Master, Alisia Dragoon, Chakan the Forever Man, Adventures of Batman & Robin for sure, Contra Hardcorps definitely, Gaiares (mainly because it bores the crap out of me) pretty much sum up my list. I returned Jewel Master when I bought it back in the day, totally not appreciating the excellent design at the time and being a typical kid who just wanted "more Shinobi". I picked it up in recent years and see it as a quality title, but I just haven't been convinced to put the time into it yet.
Alisia Dragoon I borrowed from a friend, who loved it to death, and just couldn't get into it. I thought it looked too "first gen" and didn't give it a chance. I picked Alisia Dragoon in recent years and haven't played past the first level since.
Chakan, Adventures of Batman & Robin, Contra Hard Corps and Gaiares were all rentals for me back in the day that failed to sell themselves. I thought they were awesome, rented them multiple times, but never could get very far in them.
Revenge of Shinobi
Tried time and time again, I can't complete it.
Castlevania on the NES! I remember that time I beat the grim reaper AND THEN I DIED AT THE EXACT SAME TIME! That was the closest I've made it to beating the game.
Just about all these games that have been mentioned above. Castlevania on the NES (although I have not REALLY tried to beat it for years). CHAKAN!! DAMN YOU!!
MY SEGAS[Model 1 Sega CD x 5] [Model 1 HD Genesis w/Component Video] [Model 2 Genesis] [32X CIB] [Master System Model 3010] [Nomad w/LCD mod] [Dreamcast] [Saturn] [Game Gear]
Gaiares and Target Earth. Only way for me to beat these games was to use cheats.
Audiosurf.
That game is some trippy shit!
Toejam and Earl
Sonic 2
Streets of Rage 2
Some of my favorites that I have never beaten.
For me Bart`s Nightmare, and Aladdin.
Haven't been able to beat the last boss in Shadow Dancer yet![]()
I found three major difficulties with RoS:
- The uber jump in 7-1
- The massive jump in 8-1
- The labyrinth of 8-2
Which one stumped you?
I used to find Kid Chameleon would compel me to try and complete it. Then, when I was a grown up, I did. My awesome cannot be stopped, in spite of the Final Marthon giving it a good go.
Fatal Rewind, from my memory I managed to go to the last level without finish it.
Alisia Dragoon is a great Genesis game imho, I finished it during my teenage days
but the last time I had tried to do the same, I died in near the end
(when you must jump on strange geometric platforms).
contra hardcops is really easy when you master the wolf's bug.
I remember back in the days, I borrowed it from a friend and it took me 6 months to finish it.
I called my friend to tell him I finally beat the m***** game and he told something like "what took you so long ??? the game is damn easy !".
Next day, he shows me the wolf's bug and I was like O______O
But when he realised I had finished the game with another character, he was like O_____O
Haha, good old times.
My worst game was phantasy star II
Used the hint book too much so when I arrived against Darfalz (or whatever) for the first time, I lasted 10 seconds hahaha
Can't remember how long I had to level up before being to kill him (with a lot of luck !), but it took a LOT of time
