Hi all, just wandered over here from Digital Press after having been a longtime lurker in the reviews section. Great site you guys got here. Now that I'm getting the urge again to become a Sega collector (used to collect the 16 bit stuff back in the day, and always proffered the Genesis over the SNES) I figured I'd better get off my ass and join the best dedicated Sega forum around.

Welcome to both of you. Don't know why people missed you before.
@Bablefish: You need 10 posts to create new threads - This helps fight spambots.
@slip81: The most common forum people post in these days is the Off-Topic forums, because of the popular "Count to 5000" and "state something random" threads.

Just saying "Hi" to everyone, I have a small collection of mega drive/mega cd gear however I collect for a lot of other systems (Everything from Master System - FM Towns).

I've been collecting on and off for 6-7 years (Sold my collection twice in that time), I recently also joined www.sega16bit.com forum but that seems a bit quite so thought I'd join here as well.

You can see my mega drive collection here:

    Regards,

    Tom

Hey guys im Segs, The Megadrive was my first ever console when I got it at the age of 5 and have grown up playing some really awesome games ( Aladdin, Sonic 3, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Streets of Rage 2 ect.. )

I didn't really mind ditching the Megadrive in favor for the new Playstation at the time but around 2006 I decided to start a collection again just because I loved playing those games, I've got around 20-30 Megadrive Games, 2 Megadrives and some extra bits and peices, I also work at a Video Games store that does Retro games and consoles but as always everyone tends to grab all the good games so once in a while i'll grab good ones that gets traded in. But as of late im really starting to get into collecting Megadrive stuff and hope to have at least over 60 games by the end of this year

Anyways found this site through a workmate who reads the articles but never bothered to join the forums, but I love what the guys have done with this site and is a great site for people starting up collections or wanting to know more about the System/Games.

    Hi everybody,

I'm Martijn and I'm from the Netherlands.

I've been reading stuff from this site since two weeks now and I thought it was time to register to the forums now.

The Megadrive was our (my brother and mine) second console and was probably the console wich consumed most of our time. We owned a NES but when we got this new neighbor he invited us over and let us play with his Megadrive, a few weeks later we sold our NES and games to raise our first Megadrive money. It dind't take long before we owned one to. Since the games were quite expensive I think our collection never exceded 11 games. Some of our favourites were: (ofcourse) Sonic, Streetfighter, Mortal kombat, Flashback, Tiny toons and Desert strike.

A few weeks ago I downloaded Sonic 2 on the VC for the Wii, just for fun. Finding myself addicted to game again in no time! I instantly wanted to download more sonic and other Megadrive games. But for € 8,- each I found them quite expensive! So, again just for fun, I checked some online marketplaces. to find out I could own a Megadrive with some games for around € 20,-! So why play a emulated game when the real thing is actually cheaper!

So, within these two weeks I've bought a Megadrive 2 and and a Mega CD 2 (that wasn't within my reach when it came out originaly!) and a few games.

Now I own a megadrive 2, Mega CD 2 and two Megadrive 1.

    The following Megadrive games:
    -Sonic
    -Sonic 2
    -Sonic 3
    -Tiny toons
    -Street fighter
    -Cool spot
    -Taz-mania
    -Desert strike
    -Road rash
    -Dragon's fury
    -King of the monsters
    -Second samourai
    -Castle of illusions
    -Psycho pinball
    -Eterrnal champions

    And Mega CD:
    -Road Avenger
    -Sonic CD
    -Sol-feace/Cobra command
    -Nighttrap
    -Batman returns
    -Arcade collection
    -thunderhawk

I'm realy getting into collecting Megadrive stuff!!!

    mint, post count +1

AG-Wolf. Been a sega fan for ages... I do love other consoles (competition) just as much, but there was always something about Sega hardware (until the Dreamcast) that I absolutely fell for. I have over 20 different consoles and 400+ games across all of them; but the 16-bit Sega stuff seems to be the largest category.

My love for the Genesis is second only to my love for the Wipeout series. I'm not a big fan of other typical Sega fare like shining force, phantasy star, alex kidd, etc, but I'm still a huge Sonic fan and have my own other game preferences. I came to the forums mainly looking for insight on a few questions I've had for a while, but can't make new threads yet because I'm still below my ten-post trial period :P

Hello all. The name is *points to name* living in Lawrence, Ma. Originally from Connecticut. Been a heavy Sega fan, but never got my hands on a Genesis (Until 2000) and I am a huge fan of the Game Gear.

I am currently collecting Sega CD, Saturn, and Game Gear games since I couldn't have these since I was a kid (Damn you Santa!!) and other console games (SNES, PS1, Etc).

My interest include, PC troubleshooting/refurbishing, mods (PSP, DS, PS2, Etc), web development, music, movies, going out with the guys, and whatevers fun.

I am, but its in the bottom barrel of my list since I can't find one.

I played a Master System ONCE about 17 years ago and it was Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Only way to play this awesome system now is through emulation which I am trying to leave and collect these awesome games.
