Hi everyone, my real name’s Chris but I go by Criddo on here. I never originally owned a Genesis/Mega Drive or hardly ever played one, but grew up playing Playstation and N64 at friends houses and a lot of computer games. The only console I owned as a kid was a grape Gameboy Colour which I played a lot. In more recent times I came to remember how much I loved the gameboy and decided to start collecting for it, since the games are cheap and don’t take up much room and there are such a wide variety of console colours and styles. After building a respectable collection in just over a year, I decided to then buy a ps2 and a few games since EB were selling them so cheap. Around this time, I was also looking for another console to really get into. I checked out the N64, ps1 and SNES, but decided to get a Genesis after watching some reviews on Classic Game Room and realising the number of great games on the system, as I was not familiar with the extensive library of games. The system looks great – I remember reading toy catalogues in the early 90’s and seeing the square-shaped NES, the SNES with the coloured buttons, and then seeing the black, sleek model 1 Mega Drive advertised and thought it looked amazing and futuristic. When I started collecting, I decided to buy a NTSC Genesis, mainly because I liked the look of it better than the PAL version and there were some games such as MUSHA that I loved, but were not released in my region. The controllers are perfect for playing the great library of shmups and there’s also some fantastic beat ‘em ups, run n guns, etc. Now I have about 45 games and counting, but I only buy games that I really like and have some connection with. I try to get CIB, or at the very least, box and manual. The Genesis is now definitely my favourite console.
I haven’t posted much here yet, but have been using this site for a while and found it very interesting and helpful. Good to be part of a community of other like-minded people.
Hi, I'm Michael aka mikeyp. I live in the UK and have had a megadrive since I was 7. I'm now collecting/modding to my heart's content and have a nice little collection. I'm sure other people will have more than me but this is what I have so far.
My baby, original megadrive II VA1.4 completely original and unmodified.
-2x wired 3 button handsets
-Original transformer
-Original RF adapter
My main megadrive II VA4, reset button replaced, otherwise unmodified.
-2x Sega IR handsets
-Original transformer
-Composite/stereo CVBS cable
-Sega Mega CD II, unmodified, original transformer
-32X, unmodified, original transformer
-Konami Justifier, blue and pink
My newest addition; my Sega nomad. Very sweet indeed.
-Modded AA battery case to contain 2600mAh battery and charger
-Region modded
-Original screen but not sure whether to replace or not and how.
I'd like to change the screen I think but am wondering about using s-video rather than composite. It'd be easy to do the standard composite mod but internal s-video might be a bit of a novelty.

Hello, my name is Michael (lol 2 Mike's from Europe) and i'm from GermanyI'm a Sega Collector since 2006 (and also collect other retro stuff like PC Engine, Famicom, Super Famicom, Atari VCS ...). The Sega Mega Drive is my favourite console between all SEGA consoles. I'm concentrating on Shoot-em Ups. Most of them in my collection are japanese Versions. I really like the artwork, the covers from the boxes etc ... Hope to have fun here. See ya! :P
Hello everyone! I'm Cory.. I live in Tennessee in the USA. I've been a Sega fan since I first got my Genesis as a kid. I recently picked up a Model 1 HDG and have gone into collecting mode again. I started collecting a little over a month ago and have so far picked up about 15 CIB Genny games, a 32x with a few games, and several controller types. I joined up here to get some info on overclocking. Hoping to do a few mods to the old beast.
Haha, perhaps. I live in Kentucky now. Louisville area.
Not a huge change, no. I'd like to visit my friends in Nashville more often though.
Hi,
My name's Adam (as you can probably guess). I have a PAL European Mega Drive 2 (and a broken Mega Drive 1
) and Mega CD 2. I have a large collection of Mega Drive and Master System games (too many to list right now). I also have a Master System Converter 2 to play Master System games, and a Datel Universal Adapter to play American and Japanese Mega Drive games. I also have a Game Genie with the book. I wouldn't mind a 32X, but then I'd have to give up the Master System games
.
